Forbidden Love [Loki x reader] (Part 1)

Chapter 53 - chocolate strawberries

— Loki's POV —

Just because of her request I have to wear Jeans and a Sweatshirt. This isn't my style at all and I'm feeling very uncomfortable with it, but at least it's all black. I don't know why midgardians seem to like those clothes so much. I prefer my suits with the capes, but she asked me to wear "normal" clothes to not draw too much attention to us. She wants to have a normal day, go through the streets of New York City, the city I destroyed back then, and just enjoy being free, maybe for the first time in her life.

Even though she went through theses streets already, her eyes sparkle and she has to look around the whole time. Our hands are intertwined since she saw some people play music on the streets and got very excited from it. She first grabbed my wrist but quickly took my hand in hers to drag me behind her. I didn't fight anything she did. As I said, it's her day and if she says to me at night, that she enjoyed today and is happy, than it's all worth it.

We are going through the streets until she suddenly quickened her speed and dragged me with her.

-Loki: "Where are we going?"
-Y/n: "They have chocolate strawberries!", she says in excitement, not slowing down.
-Loki: "Do you even have money?"
-Y/n: "Natasha borrowed me $50 yesterday."

Before I could say anything else, she dragged me inside this half open shop where there are many other sweets, like apples covered in chocolate, and a lot of other stuff that could probably melt someone's teeth. She is waiting in the row until she can tell her order to the girl that is working here. I'm standing more at the side of the small, half open store and watch her tell the order. With two chocolate strawberry sticks in her hands she comes back to me.

-Y/n: "I bought us two in case you like them as much as I do.", she gives me one of the sticks, "and if you don't like it at all then that's better for me and I can enjoy two sticks of them.", she says with a smile on her face, her white teeth showing. I chuckle to myself, I think without her noticing it.

I take a bite and couldn't believe how good this tasted. The strawberry wasn't as sweet but the chocolate balanced everything out. I take a quick look over to Y/n who had her eyes closed and enjoyed her bite too. She had a soft smile on her face while chewing. Even though I like what I just ate, I wanted to give her the stick with 3 other chocolate strawberries on it back, so I put on a disgusted face and held the stick in her direction. When she noticed what I did and she had to chuckle a bit, but took the stick. We walked away from the store and sat down on a bench nearby, so that she could eat.

Time flew quickly. After she was done eating we kept walking around the city. She doesn't need anything exciting, she just need some time of peace after everything she's been through. After a while we decided to head back to the headquarters because the sun started to set. She had a smile on her face, a smile that lasted longer than just a moment when something was funny. That was a smile someone had when they were happy and I really hope she is.

We walked silently beside each other and our hands were touching shortly in some moments. Should I take her hand? Would she want and even like something like that?  Since she lost her powers, her personality changed a bit, which is not too bad, but I felt like I have to get to know her all over again. If she still had her powers I wouldn't take her hand but then our hands would also not touch while we're walking. She would make sure that there is enough space between us that something like this wouldn't even happen. She also wouldn't buy chocolate strawberries and even a second stick for me, just in case I like it.

But I also notice how I've changed a bit. I usually wouldn't want to make people happy and give them my food even though I liked it. I would sit in my dorm and read another book, or I would just do some mischief because it's fun and annoys everyone else. What is she doing to me that I suddenly just want to make her happy, that I think about holding her hand and if she likes that or not? Even when I wanted to have sex with her, I didn't because I'm afraid that I'll hurt her or worse, kill her.

I stopped thinking for a while and decided to take her hand, when they were touching for more than just a few seconds. She immediately intertwined her fingers with mine, just as if she had waited for me to take her hand the whole time but was too shy to do it herself. That was so unlike her, but not in a really bad way, it's just strange and confirms that I have to get to know her all over again.

-Y/n: "Thanks.", she suddenly said and broke the comfortable silence between us.
-Loki: "For what?", I was confused and she could see that, but I wasn't really hiding it.
-Y/n: "For today. I had a lot of fun and needed this so much.", she spoke calmly and with a smile on her face.

I didn't know what to say. That's the first time someone thanked me for something nice I did. I suddenly stopped her from walking, which was surprising me because it was completely out of my control, and kissed her. She didn't return the kiss for what felt like hours and I started to regret what I just did, but it actually didn't take too long until she also leaned into the kiss. My hands lay on her cheeks and hers are on my shoulders.

We ended the kiss after a while. It wasn't too intense, it was a new way for me to kiss. I kept staring into her eyes, which are so beautiful but with the sunset in her eyes even more. Then she started to walk again and pulled me with her, hands intertwined with each other again. We didn't need to say anything anymore, the comfortable silence between us came back and it didn't take long until we arrived at the headquarters.
