Palette quietly scrolled through a job website. He was needing a few things, but he refused to put his mother in a tough spot. He was already a burden on her.
Gently, a hand was placed on the teen's shoulder, causing him to jump some, turning his head over to who had touched him. Instead of seeing some annoyed person or someone his age, he saw his Savior.
"Didn't know you went here." He chuckled out, releasing their shoulder and sitting next to them.
The artistic skeleton relaxed and giggled, smiling some. "Yeah, a friend's cousin owns the place."
Cray nodded, his smile falling naturally. He then noticed what the other was looking up.
"Looking for a job?" He asked, humming softly.
A swift blush appeared on the young artist's face as he nodded. An odd, nervous giggle leaving his lips as he turned back to the website. None of the jobs there were good enough and were low star and in bad neighborhoods. Sure, he probably shouldn't be picky, but he also didn't want to be part of shit show!
The parasite paused for a moment, slightly leaning back in his chair before he grinned and focused on his little Light.
"I have a job for you then." He chirped out, getting the teen's attention. "It's a paid internship at my company for the design side of things. Maybe you want to give it a go?" He asked, grinning brightly.
Palette blinked some. He didn't really know Cray well enough to completely take his word... But it didn't make sense to him for the parasite to lie to him after helping him out a few times.
"W-Well, I don't know too much about design... But I-I can try?" A shy smile pulled at the other's lips, making them look so beautiful and innocent. It truly was adorable.
The rich monster reached out to rubbed the other's head, but their phone dinged. Quickly, he focused in on it and his happy expression soured some. Palette didn't like how quick his mood changed.
"Sorry... Hackers." He murmured, leaving quickly.
The bright teen calmed some as he tilted his head some, but shrugged it off swiftly. He then refocused on the computer. The internet had a lot of things on it, so maybe he could see if what Cray was saying was true!
The pale skeleton paused for a moment before typing in his new friend's name. He only paused because he couldn't remember Cray's last name, but it had to be a unique enough name that it would be easy to find. And it was! But a little too unique...
What Cray had said was true, but what he failed to mention was that he was worth billions at this point! And not only that, but he had raised almost a half his worth in charity money!
The more and more Palette read on the guy, the more and more he felt ashamed of himself for actually doubting him... The guy was a college drop out that had turned his own uncle's failing business into a successful company that was "rolling in dough". Even if the internship didn't work out, the money that Palette could be making would be more than enough to get him what he needs!
Sighing some, the lime themed monster logged off the computer and waved good-bye to the cashier. He then started walking to Goth's house. He needed to talk to someone about this, just so he knows he's not being an idiot...
Cray sighed softly, laying on his office couch. He had just a meeting with some of his runners, all of whom were complaining about some group of vigilantes stopping them from selling. They weren't selling anything deadly, just something horribly addicting.
Sighing again, a loud knock was heard at his door.
"Come in, Error." The parasite huffed some as he forced himself to sit up as one of his best men walked in.
The glitch looked over to Cray, chuckling some. He knew the problem as well as any one of the top dogs.
"Came by to ask how's the internships going?" He hummed out, sitting in a chair in front of Cray's desk.
The parasite nodded, a small smile blooming on his face with a soft blush. The internships were starting the following week, but by that Friday would be the cancel date of anyone entering. Of course if Palette tells him on Saturday, then he could work in a little favor.
"Why the hell you smiling?" The glitch hissed some.
He hadn't seen Cray smile like that in years! Like actual years! The last time the guy smile, he was kind of covered in blood...
The parasite chuckled sitting up.
"I'm thinking about my Light." There was an odd tone with the word Light that made the older monster raise an eyebrow.
"Your... Light?" Error looked away for a moment, his head trying to think of people who'd his boss call his "Light", but none were there. "Is this person someone I know?"
The demented monster scoffed, rolling his eyes some as he smirked a bit. That was a clear answer. An answer that made the glitch mildly angry.
"Cray, you can't do that." He hissed. "If the others find out, you know someone idiotic will go after them!"
The pale skeleton suddenly pinned Error the nearby desk, breaking and scattering a few things. Cray looked mad. No, that wasn't that right word, Cray was enraged, pissed even!
He was more than likely going to kill the other for even suggesting such things will happen! His Light was too soft and sweet for such punishments! His Light was never gonna be hurt like that! Never!
"Say that again and I'll rip out your vocal cords." He hissed lowly, glaring down at the other.
The glitch gulped the best he could, genuine fear in his body.
"You're just like your damned father..." He grumbled some, the words making the other release him.
"At least he knew how to protect Mom." Cray hissed, glaring at his top man.
Error said nothing as he rubbed his throat, wincing some. He wasn't wrong, Cray was very much like his father; possessive, strong, intimidating, two faced with almost everyone, and a fucking genius in their own right.
"Whoever your Light is..." The glitch gulped down some of his own spit, making a face at the pain. "They're never gonna be free of you."
The parasite smirked some, a twisted glint in his eyes. That was the plan.
