Pray| Rejected, But In Love

Palette and Cray silently glared at each behind their best friend's back. The two never really got along, they just pretended to get along for their mutual friend. Yeah, they have a few common interests, but they don't really care that much about the each other.

"Hey, guys, I got to go. I need to meet up with someone at the train station." The white wearing monster giggled, a small blush forming on his cheeks.

"Oh, okay! Me and Palette will get some ice-cream then." The green-pink eyed parasite smiled down at his old time friend.

The librarian laughed gently and nodded, with a simple wave good bye, he left the two rivals alone.

Palette and Cray stood there for a moment more before parting ways, the ice-cream thing was an excuse that they sometimes would use. It was to make it seem like that the two cared for each other... When in reality when Goth was out of sight, they'd just walk away and go home.

For a couple of weeks, however, the smart cutie had started spending less time with the two, saying some random excuses. Of course the two were loyal and always agreed, saying that they could hang out later, but... It honestly was starting to hurt...

"Pal, Cray!" Came the sweet voice, seconds before the two were about to simply walk by each other as though they didn't see one another.

The two skeletons quickly turned to see their short friend, smiles on their faces.

The small, white skeleton quickly skidded to a stop as he panted, hands on his knees while a robot gently placed his hand on the smaller's back.

"I told you, you didn't have to run." They laughed gently.

"Y-Yeah... I know, but I didn't want to miss them!" The smaller whined, wrapping his arms around the taller monster's waist.

"Um... Gothy, whose this?" The cheerleader asked, trying to give an optimistic smile, but it felt forced.

"Oh! This is my boyfriend Steel Toaster!" At the end the small skeleton gave a light snicker as the tin can only shook his head.

"You just had to." He chuckled, lightly pinching the smaller's cheeks.

All the librarian do was giggle.

"I know, but I couldn't help it." The nerdy monster smiled up at his lover, who simply bent down and pecked the cute skeleton's lips.

"I can't stay mad at you." He whispered, lightly rubbing his boyfriend's head.

Cray and Palette felt their souls shatter, the dream of marrying Goth dying within the same second. The guy was in love with a ghost possessing a robot... How stupid could they be, Goth was a weird one who liked nerdy guys... He would've never gone for them.

"Anyway, I just wanted to apologize for not spending so much time with you guys. It's just that Steel is only here until the middle of next month, then he has to go back across the country." Goth explained, a calming smile on his face.

Neither one of them wanted to answer... It was like if they even thought of opening their mouth, they would've burst into tears.

Still, Cray did, pushing his emotions down into the gutter. He had to be happy for his buddy... Even if the guy he was with was weird, he still had to be happy.

"Well, why don't you two get going. Me and Palette here were just talking about getting some ice-cream down at Sugar and Melon's place."

The innocent creature laughed happily and nodded, relief filling him at the acceptance. He honestly was worried that the two would've broken down in tears or tried to fight his boyfriend! Yeah, he knows those two are protective of him like that, so he honestly had no clue as to what they would've done.
