Dream was happy that his Moon had become more docile. Yes, he knew it was because of fear, and he hated that, but he was happy. Happy to have his little brother again, to be able to hold and love him so dearly.

Nightmare, as terrified as he was of this Godly Dream, wanted to know more. He needed to know more. Knowledge was always half the battle, the only part of the war that he was able to take full advantage of.

"I want to read. I'm bored here." He grumbled one day while Dream was cooking food.

He stopped for a moment, looking to him with an uncertain look. Unlike Nightmare's brother, he wasn't naive, nor stupid. He likely knew why he wanted to read, what he wanted to read.

The winged monstered sighed heavily, a deep frown on his face.

"Why do you want to learn so much about the past?" He nearly whined, for a moment sounding much like the sweet brother Night had back home.

"Because if I'm going to stay here, I'd like to be informed." He huffed, glaring murderously at the other. He was unfazed by him.

A grin grew on the taller monster's face, a chuckle in his throat. He then sighed again, plating their food.

"You're much like him. Always believing that knowledge was-"

"Is. Knowledge is half the battle. I won many times against my own brother... He just had more Sanses."

The God paused for a moment; his eyes narrowed. He looked annoyed. Probably at the thought of his own petty war.

"Dreams shouldn't fight their Nightmares. Not when they're so precious. Not when you are so important to me."

The words held such a possessive tone, casting a shadow over the food that was placed before the King. He glanced up to the God, trying to quell how truly terrified he was of the other.

"I want to go home... I'm not your Nightmare, I'm sure Dream is worried about me..."

"After fighting you so hard?" Those gold eyes glowed dangerously.

"I gave him no choice."

"There was always a choice."

The purple clad monster scoffed, rolling his eyes a little.

"I literally tried to kill him at every step, he tried multiple times to talk to me. I was the difficult party." He growled. He honestly didn't understand how much plainer he had to be that he was the bad guy  in the situation!

The Godly being huffed a little, narrowing his eyes.

"He did something to upset you, obviously. Now, enough of this talk. You are mine now, I won't let you go." He grumbled.

Nightmare gritted his teeth, and out of frustration, picked his plate up and threw it at his captor!

"Fucking asshole! I'm not yours! I'm no one's! I'm a King for fuck's sake! Stop treating me like this fragile thing!" He screamed, slamming his hands on the table. He breathed heavily as looked to the surprised face of the God.

For a fleeting moment, he felt proud of what he did. Then the other narrowed his eyes and stood up. The smaller skeleton scrambled out of his chair, quickly taking several steps back with his hands raised.

He opened his mouth to apologize or say something to calm the anger that was obviously growing. Yet, all that came out was: "Do you think you deserved that?"

Like a record screeched, Nightmare's breath caught in his throat, his eyes widening in surprise at his own stupidity. Then he made the rather smart decision in that moment and ran! He teleported when he could think somewhat clearly, which ended with him in some random hallway of the temple. He didn't care, only continuing to move and randomly teleport.
