Halluciv had once been very happy and bright, despite that he appeared as a gooey monster and a Guardian of negativity. He was almost never seen without a smile or a happy look. He was always eager to do whatever Xcellence or his brother wanted. He was even more happy to do so if it was for Xcellence.
Yet, this changed. No one knew what had caused the change. No one knew what had happened to cause this change, as they didn't remember when the change started.
He was always happy looking, always floating around the mansion, helping anyone he wanted. He was a good Dark Sans, an angel amongst demons really. They had all found that annoying, found that it got on their nerves. Sometimes his kindness left more problems than solutions, at least it did in their eyes.
Over time, he stopped smiling, stopped looking around for something to do. It soon became common to find him in the mansion's dull garden or library. He was still happy looking, but he was calmer. He still done anything Xcellence and Marvul had asked of him, yet there seemed to be no light in his eye.
Then he stopped showing his emotions entirely. He stopped talking during this time too. When someone tried to talk with him, he only gave them a blank look, as if he had something better to do. They knew he didn't as he had stopped going on missions and could now only be found in the library. If he wanted to be found at all.
When he first started to change, when he first became less happy and expressive, his missions had gotten better. He had soon became a genuine fighter worthy of difficult missions. The Dark Sanses finally saw that he had use, and they had used him in that way so happily. However, they quickly grew annoyed with him once he refused to speak and listen to them. His blank stare unnerved them, it felt as if he was staring right into their souls, right into their darkest desires.
This unnerved feeling changed to genuine fear. On a mission, one that he had finally joined, he had grown enraged at one of the lesser Dark Sanses, no one knew what happened. All anyone knew next was that the once sweet and naive monster that couldn't hurt a fly suddenly was grinning like manic, using his tentacles to rip and torture the Sans. He didn't flinch as the monster screamed for mercy, no, he used the fear to fuel his power. His once comforting darkness, now an endless void of despair that suffocated everyone within its grasps.
They were lucky they had only seen it once, but it finally dawned on them how powerful Halluciv really was. He was the Guardian of Negativity, he ate the Onyx fruit, it only made sense that he would grow from such darkness... Grow in numbness and madness.
It was only after this realization did they find they missed the old Halluciv. The Halluciv that would smile and bear it, that was so angelic and sweet to the point of annoyance. They missed that Halluciv.
Before anyone could find a way or a reason to convince him to pretend or to go back to his old ways, he disappeared. They had searched the mansion over and over, but nothing. There was no trace of him, only his untouched room remained.
They didn't know where to look for him, not that it mattered to him. To him, they were now annoyances and regrets of an old past.
"Are you thinking about them?" A surprisingly deep voice hummed beside the guardian.
The numb monster gave a nod before looking to the only person he dared not regret meeting. The only person who could make him smile even the littlest bit. Reboot, the Protector of the AUs.
The glitchy skeleton gave the smaller a simple smile. He liked spending time with the Guardian, especially now that he was Neutral. It made it easier dealing with the Dark Sanses.
Halluciv hummed softly, shifting a bit till his head was in the artist's lap. He didn't have to say anything to get it across that he wanted to sleep. The artist chuckled, rubbing the tar covered forehead before moving on to designing a new AU.
The two had a good relationship like that. Occasionally, the Guardian would help the Protector with creating or maintaining AUs. The gooey monster did his best to avoid his old teammates and brother. He didn't want to be reminded of his past mistakes and regrets. He was lucky that the other Sanses seemed to have let him go, always saying something about him being used and far too naive.
Despite that he didn't show emotions and acted close to a doll, Halluciv felt free. He felt comforted with the fact he had at least one friend. Comforted by the fact that the Dark Sanses couldn't find him so easily. He was comforted by many different things, all of which stemmed from his fading emotions.
He just hopped that those Dark Sanses stay away from him, or else he might do something rather regretful.
