The white wearing monster limped in the forest of rotting trees and dying bushes. The place couldn't handle Nightmare's negative aura... Like most things really...

Sucking in a deep breath, the monster slid down a tree once he was near a quiet area, an area that hadn't been touched yet by the corruption.

Next to the tree was a soft pond, the waters a peaceful blue, clear enough to see the happy skies above.

Leaning over it, he sighed, his eyes searching the waters with boredom... Well, until something popped up!

A yelp left his lips as he jumped back, harshly hitting his back against the trunk of the tree.

Gulping bits of air, slowly, he crept back to the water.

Instantly his white and red eyes met one cyan blue one surrounded by dark tar.

Both figures stiffened, gazing at the being in the reflection. They looked so much like their love, but so much kinder... So much more innocent and gentle...

Shakily, the Nightmare look-alike waved at the other. Cross returned it hesitantly, carefully relaxing his body.

"How are you in there? Why do you look like Senpai?" He whispered, his lips barely moving.

The small goopy thing looked confused, tilting their head to the side.

'I can't hear you... Can you speak clearer?' They mouthed.

The white monster nodded, repeating what he said, but mouthing it instead.

Again they looked confused.

'Senpai? Who is your Senpai? Mine is Xcellence!' They seemed to have brighten up at the part of their love's name, but there was the deep sorrow in their eye.

"Nightmare, his name is Nightmare... You look like his innocent copy..." Cross whispered, making sure that his lips exaggerated the words.

The smaller figure nodded, making a motion with his hand that the bigger skeleton took as you too.

For some reason, it brought a smile to face... A calm smile, it being small and soft.

His smile brought the same smile to the other, it being even more so.

"My name is Cross, what's yours?"

The gooey skeleton looked around him before pulling a piece of paper and pencil out of his large pocket. Quickly, he scribbled something on it, then raised it up for the other to see.

"Halluciv?" The monster asked, raising an eyebrow.

He receive a swiftly nod, a bright, wide smile on Halluciv's face.

"How about I call you Lucy? It'll make things easier."

Again that large, happy smile spread across their delicate face.

"CROSS! WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?" A deep, demented voice shouted.

Both characters winced, so they both assumed that their Senpais must've been calling them. There was no need to say anything as they hurried off, not wanting to disappoint them... But they secretly knew nothing would please them... Not even if they left...

Months started to pass, and every other day, the two met at that pound. They talked about their days, what they did, if they got beaten... Who they truly were...

It didn't take long for them to fall in love with each other. They were nothing like their counterpart, they were kind and gentle; Halluciv was a dreamer and loved to hear about Cross's wishes, even encourage him! Cross was determined and protective of his friends, he was mostly passive unless he was forced to fight. They loved each other.

Yet, it also didn't take long for their old loves to notice their change in behavior, the change in the way they walked, talked and even smiled... They noticed that the little ones no longer annoyed them as much, and would always volunteer to patrol the forest for a bit... They noticed how quiet and happy they been... How they would silently glare at the people they used to love, how they stopped calling them Senpai, but called them by their real names...

So, one day, they followed the small, loyal dogs.

"Hey, Lucy." Cross called out. After going to the area for so long, he didn't feel the need to whisper his words, he could just talk normally.

Lucy made a giggling motion, saying a quick hello back.

'Close your eyes! I have something for you!' They mostly likely shouted, their one eye shimmering in the darkness of their hood.

The more dominate skeleton laughed softly, reaching his hand into the water, closing his eyes. It didn't take long for him to feel the gentle feeling of paper pressing against his fingers.

They both had learned quickly that they could exchange small things through the water, but anything bigger than two feet, then it would be destroyed, crushed...

Pulling his hand back, he opened his eyes to see a calm lavender colored lotus in his hand. A smile graced his lips as he lightly touched the top of the flower, it neatly falling apart.

Inside was a ring. A deep onyx gemstone made the band of it, letting the bright golden amber gem be the main attention. Though engraved on the ring were soft swings and raised bumps of leaves and flowers, something you'd have to see with your fingers.

Cross just gapped at it.

"No... You can't give me your ring! This is yours! It-"

Halluciv raised a hand to stop the other from continuing, his eyes filled with happiness and joy.

'I may not be able to be there with you physically, but I want a part of me to be with you... So you don't feel lonely anymore... I want you to know that you have my soul...' A deep blush formed on the innocent monster, a lopsided smile taking home to his loving face.

A calm, loved and loving smile pulled at the beaten monster's face, which he let. With the smaller, he was safe and they were safe with him.

"Close your eyes." He told the other, who repeated the same actions he took moments before.

Cross slipped the ring on his ring finger. The ring was a bit snug, but he could take it off, so that was okay.

Easily, he unclipped his golden locket, placing it in the middle of the paper. He folded it carefully, folding it in a violet. Reaching pass the water, he handed the paper to his young love.

They looked at the flower and lightly tapped the middle, where it revealed the golden necklace. The dark child giggled and held it close to his chest, his one eye showing love and happiness.

"I want you to hold my soul as well."

The dangerous skeleton reached into the water, reaching to touch the other, who reached back.

They held each other's hand, wishing and wanting nothing more than to hold each other... To know what the other's voice sounded like.

They all could see their love, their undying happiness with each other, the need and want to be with each other... It was painful to see how they held onto their hands, but... Cross and Halluciv only needed their touch, as touch can reveal everything.
