"Brother!" The glowing ball of sun shouted, smiling so warmly and brightly to his opposite.

Nightmare gave his brother a growling look. Since their treaty Dream had been making it a habit to spend more and more time with him. Or attempt to do so at least. Night made it his mission to avoid or peacefully get rid of his annoying brother.

"What?" He rolled back his shoulders as he felt the urge to stab the smaller twin. That would break the treaty, even if Dream didn't say anything about it.

"I got you this!" The sunshine of a monster held out an sun-moon looking pendant. However, the entire pendant was a jewel of beautifully mixing colors. Yet, that wasn't the oddest thing about it. It was the overwhelming sense of emotional energy coming from it! "I found it and remember that you liked examining these types of oddities?" There was a hopeful tone in Dream's voice. He really wanted his brother to accept it. All his other gifts were either rejected or thrown in the trash.

The King of Fear shifted his weight, his natural curiosity pushing down on him. It was rare that an object would elude emotional energy. The only times he's seen/felt it was when the object in question was with a very emotional person. Even then, the object was only reflecting what was surrounding it.

Mumbling under his breath some, he opened his hand for the unusual pendant. Dream gave a happy gasp as he suddenly hugged his brother. He then quickly pulled away and gave the pendant to the taller monster.

"I hope it leaves you with lots to learn!" He chirped happily.

Nightmare scoffed, rolling his eyes a little. He then turned from the other and began to walk away. Dream shouted plenty of farewells before his glowing aura faded away with him also running off.

"At least he knows when he's pushing it..." Nightmare murmured as he made it to his office.

Well, calling it his office is putting it mild. The office part of the room barely took up a fourth of the whole room! The rest of it was designed for him to experiment and research whatever he needed or wanted to. The back wall also had a lot of bookcases filled with journals that Nightmare had written himself. There were a couple that he had written specifically about him and Dream's powers, strengths and weaknesses. Those books were sealed shut with some human magic so no one could use those secrets against him.

After closing the door behind him, he got set on understanding the pendant. He had first noted the unique design and how carefully crafted it was. He then started to see how it reacted to being stimulated by non-magical things, be it electricity or something sweet like music- Nightmare had a rather soft and soothing singing voice, though he always kept that a secret. He soon decided to try and stimulate it with his Magic.

"Here we go." He hummed, a smile forming on his gooey face. The gem so far had only kept a neutral response except at the music stimuli or other similar stimuli. He had already tested it with other forms of magic, to which got it to create little windows to some bright place or cause small blackholes that would suck in some of his things. He wanted to know how it would react to his magic.

Nightmare groaned as he slowly woke up. His head was pounding inside of his skull. It was a pain between eating the apples and trying to out drink Ink. Apparently, Ink was a heavy drinker...

As carefully he could, he sat up. There was a jiggling sound that drummed around him in an odd way. He scowled at the annoying sound, opening his eye enough to look at what was making that noise. He scoffed some as he saw it was a pair of chains, chains that were weakening him if their soft glow was anything to go by.

Hearing a gasp, he turned to look at it, seeing three guard looking people staring at him with horror. He smirked a little as he felt the waves of fear rolling off them. Sure, it wasn't helping him too much, but it was at least something.
