Ink was singing under his breath as he was looking over some old bones. They were claimed to be some ancient bones of some Egyptian God. So far, they just seemed to be bones of a ninety year old man. A human man.

Sighing some, the pale skeleton pulled back with a pout. He was actually hoping on these claims to be real. If they were then that meant Gods, actual Godly beings, had walked on Earth! It meant that there was more than just science and theories!

"Yo, Dr. Comyet!" A parasite called out, opening the large doors to Ink's personal work place.

The small skeleton gave the larger one a chilling glare, a silent warning to either leave peacefully or tell them why they were there.

The tall parasite monster shivered some, remembering how aggressive the little thing can become. Hell, he had to find a new body because of this shrimp!

Quickly, they cleared their throat. "We... We have a unique skeleton that you... you might just want to look at..." He clearly looked uncomfortable, backing up to the doors.

Ink rose an eyebrow. A skeleton he might find interesting? Now that is something he wanted to look at.

"Alright, bring them in." He hummed, quickly moving to put the old human bones to rest.

The parasite monster sighed some before quickly exiting the private work room. He was glad that Ink accepted. He really didn't want to leave with the short skeleton glaring at his back. It wasn't even fun to think about... No less to imagine.

Within twenty minutes, a new body was in the private work room. Ink softly gasped when he saw it, his eyes growing wide. What laid before him was something he needed to see.

There, laying on a cold metal bed, was the remains of what could only be described as a Mermaid. The wonderful thing about it though, was the fact that the tail still had meat, flesh and scales on it! It was perfectly untouched by any animals and free of obvious signs of rotting! Then there was the wonderful fact their upper half was naturally bones, but they were seemingly stained darkly with their finger bones bearing blood red and a mustardy yellow color.

"W-Where did you find th-them?" The anthropologist smiled some, gingerly touching the dark skull. Even through the surgical gloves, he could still feel the dampness of it.

"Dr. Riverdale's great, great, great, grandfather's secret laboratory." The head man said with a sigh, shaking his head. There was something he wasn't saying.

The short skeleton pulled away from his new arrival and gave his boss a raised eyebrow. It was the famous eyebrow raised that all knew to answer the unspoken question.

"Mr. Riverdale had taken notes of his... studies." There was a wince, a sick look on the human's face. "However, it's written... Oddly... We were hoping-"

"Yes! Show me!" The annoyed look that had been forming on the small being's face disappeared quickly when he heard of the other mystery. It didn't hurt that he had minored in dead languages and studied them in his free time.

Besides, this journal, even if written by a mad man, could show some insight on how the creature once lived... Even if it was being monitored and most likely not in the best environment. The journal was still a good place to start!

The human sighed some, his body relaxing. He gave a small smile to Ink before leaving, letting one of the intern's hand over the frail book.

In another ten minutes, the room was empty, saved for the two skeletons and the journal.

Ink took off his surgical gloves, but quickly put on another pair. He then carefully opened the leather bound book to the front. The name signed on it was in cursive, so it was easy enough to read.
