Nightmare sighed some as he laid on his bed, scrolling through plenty of different profiles. They all were boring or the same. Most of the time it was both.
Blinking a bit, he finally turned his phone off and got up. It was near his type of late hours. He worked the graveyard shift, not something many people would go for. Yet, he didn't care.
There weren't as many annoying fucks at the graveyard shift as there would be in the normal hours of the day. He also didn't have to worry about "scaring" the customers when he uses his tentacles to lift extremely heavy objects and such things. The dress code was also more relax during the graveyard shift since their wouldn't be that many customers wondering about.
Stretching some, the gooey skeleton shifted into his smaller "Passive" form. He didn't really like it since he felt so weak in it, but his job required it so what could he do.
Quickly, he striped from the overly large clothes but before getting into some gothic, fitting clothes, he hopped into a shower. He felt dirty and when he was taking off his shirt, it vaguely smelt like weed and sex from when he visited Horror and Lust two weeks ago.
Once he was all done with that, he reheated some frozen food to quickly eat. While that was cooking in the microwave, he made himself some dark, bitter coffee.
After eating and making his cup of coffee, he left. The night was bitterly cold, so he was glad that he was able to drive.
Yawning some, he reached his work place and checked in, taking a sip of his coffee.
"Night!" The shift manager snapped loudly, their voice sounding angry.
The pale monster took another sip of his coffee as he headed to the small back office.
The manager looked annoyed in a way, but he usually always looked like that, even when it was a good day.
"Yes, sir?" The exhausted skeleton asked, rocking on his heels some.
The human grumbled some things under his breath before paying attention to his subordinate.
"We're having some rooks moving over, I need you to train them." There was no room for argument. Night just sighed and nodded, leaving after that.
After that, the skeleton just worked as he usually did, forcing a smile or two when a customer actually did show up. Thankfully, they were usually too tired or out of their mind enough that they didn't care about the obviously forced smile.
He knew said rookies would be over at his location by the next week since on Saturday was the new schedule. It only made sense to have them start when the new schedule was there, rather than at the end.
After a few hours of doing nothing, the manager told everyone to clean the place up and head home as they usually did. They were suppose to stay open till near three, but they always closed at least around one thirty. No one ever came in to stop them, no one called to see if they were open and honestly, Nightmare doubted anyone was still awake by then!
Huffing a bit, he worked the meaningless job before packing up anything that was his and leaving for his car. As he got closer to his hidden car, he swore he something on top of it...
Slowing his steps down to make them quieter, he kept his eyes on the car. It wasn't long before he could make out the dirty white fur of some tiny creature.
Stopping in front of the hood of his vehicle, he noticed that it was still warm. Well, warmer compared to what the outside air was.
Suddenly the thing uncurled itself and stood up on its short legs. It had to be the most adorable little kitten, puppy thing there was!
