"Frisk!" A kind voice called out, laughter inside it.

The brown haired child turned towards an old man, his blond hair turning into a shiny white with the grey highlights. His kind brown eyes looked into those of brown eyes as well.

In his large hand was a delicately weaved basket with a small red and white checkered blanket over the top. Still, the child knew what was inside.

'Is Grandmother alright?' Frisk asked, worry shining in their warm eyes.

"She has a small flu, but I want you to give this to Grandmother... You know how she gets when she sees me..." The large man gave a nervous laugh as small beads of sweat appeared on his head.

The little girl giggled as she nodded, how could she say no? She loved visiting Grandmother anyhow, where the Elder told tales of monsters that had long ago roam the land with man by their side.

The small human child rushed back into her small house, hurriedly changing into a blood red dress that was made from wool, the top part needing black buttons to keep it together. Once done, Frisk pulled on wool stockings that oddly matched her skin color with dark brown flats.

Hopping down the stairs, she met the Village Grandfather who gave her a cloak that was the same red color as her dress, firmly tying the knot so it wouldn't slip off her shoulders.

"Now, remember, child, don't stray from the path. The forest isn't one to be kind to innocent souls like yours. Go straight to Grandmother's and stay there for the night, come back in the morning with news of whether she is getting better or worse." The old man told, his gentle eyes now firm and demanding.

The young child nodded, her warm eyes showing only seriousness. She may not have known what was in the forest, but she had heard terrifying stories about ferocious wolves that would eat her before she could scream, and foxes that would trick and steal from her. Plants that would snap at her, eat her, etc.

Of course, today she was feeling a bit more adventurist and since she was going to see Grandmother, she might as well bring a story of her own!

Once Frisk was sure that no one from the Village could see her, she carefully ventured away from the path. Of course, she made sure she could see it, just as a guideline.

I giggled as a yellow winged butterfly landed on my nose, its fluttery wings lightly brushing against her peachy skin.

But, it only stayed there for a moment, before flying off.

Indulging in her childish instincts, the young human raced after the yellow winged butterfly. Yet, because she had to run carefully, to make sure that the food in the basket didn't tip out, the butterfly soon was out of sight.

The child pouted, turning back to where she thought she came from, only to hold a confused look. She didn't recognize any of the trees, and the path was out of sight...

Whimpering softly to herself, she hurried off in the direction where she thought the path was. Maybe she'd get lucky and end up in the large clearing with the Grandmother's Cottage!

Slowly, the day became high noon, the cool breeze flitting about her.

Biting her lip, tears started to form in her eyes as worry settled in. She was lost, all because she wanted adventure... She was suppose to stay on the path, but no! She had to go-

"Hey, buddy." A voice called out from the child's side.

The mute female gave a harsh gasp as she gently clung to the tree on her left.

Leaning, lazily on a tree opposite of her, was a skeleton? He wore a shirt that had no buttons and had pockets with a hood up, that had ears similar to those of wolf's. He also had black shorts that reached his knee joints with a single white strip on the side. A bushy blue tail was wagging behind as white lights from inside his dark sockets glowed with laughter.

Pushing himself up, he walked over to where the little human was. Placing his hand above her head, he offered her a hand shake.

"Now, is that how you great a new friend?" He asked, his voice light and friendly like a cloud on a peaceful day.

Forgetting her fear of being lost and alone, Frisk giggled, taking the monster's hand.

She felt at ease with this being. Besides if he really wanted to hurt her, then he would've done it by now.

"Can you tell me what you're doing out in the forest this late in the day? If it was anyone else who had found ya, well... It wouldn't have been a pleasant meeting." The slightly taller being questioned, getting a confused look.

Why would someone want to hurt her? She didn't do anything wrong, she was just lost and wanted to go to Grandmother.

'I'm going to Grandmother Toriel!' The child signed, making the skeleton chuckle.

"Really? The old lady that lives in the clearing with a bunch of buttercups in her front yard?" The blue wearing monster questioned, his "eyes" showing laughter.

The brown eyed girl nodded her head quickly, a smile breaking onto her face.

'Can you take me there? I'm lost...'

The wolf-skeleton chuckled at how the little girl shrunk back some at admitting she was lost. Truth was, he started watching her the moment she entered the wooded area. The determination in her eyes was rather cute, plus the way she tried to stay near the path was even more adorable. Though, he was glad that he stuck around, or else some other monster like that fish fox would've taken her back to the Alpha and Luna.

"Sure, why not, I was heading that way anyway." He lied.

The little girl giggled, patiently waiting for the odd being to lead the way.

For a while, the two walked in silence, but it was nice really. The wolf-skeleton had to keep a hold on the girl's hand though as she would sometimes indulge her childish instincts to touch and look at everything.

Still the weird monster found it cute. Most children from the girl's Village would've screamed and ran when they saw him, heck they're too afraid to even play near the forest! Yet, this one little girl, younger than most of the other kids was brave enough to come into the forest itself, just to visit one old lady... Adorable.

"We're here." The skeleton told, pushing aside some handing tree vines to show the old wooden and brick cottage that had a small bit of smoke steaming out of the chimney. There was a thick patch of yellow buttercups in front of the house, giving the home a rather cheerful look.

Frisk gave a happy laugh, quickly tugging the monster along with her to the front door. Letting his hand go, she hurriedly knocked on the door.

It only took a moment for the Elder to answer. Most of her long white hair being pulled up into two pigtails while the rest flowed down her back like a waterfall. Her usually bright golden eyes looked muddy with tiredness as her pale lavender dress held unusual wrinkles.

"Frisk, dear?" The woman murmured, quickly putting a napkin to her mouth as she gave out a harsh cough.

'Grandmother?' The child signed, worry in the young beings eyes.

"I'm fine... Come in, come in, dear... You don't want to get sick too..."

The small girl nodded, turning to her new friend to drag him in, but... he wasn't there.

The two females enter the house, the Elder heading back to her room to relax as her fatigue body requested her to do.

"Now, my child... You look disappointed... Tell me what it is..."

Frisk smiled, nodding, placing the small basket on the wooden bedside as she sat on the bed. This time, it was her who was going to tell a story.
