Red groaned as Edge yelled at him to get up. And when I mean yell, I'm not talking about his normal loud voice, but actual yelling... Which hurt.
Groggily, the short monster stood up from his bed... If you could call it that. It was a large, uncomfortable dog bed... Quiet embarrassing really when they have guests over and they get the spare room while he sleeps on the floor... Like an animal.
Suddenly, the short skeleton was shoved to the ground, his head hitting the old floors with a rough thunk. Even without feeling his head, he could tell he got another crack... A crack that his boss wouldn't give a damn about if it got infected or worse...
Damn, why did the Boss have to be so rough in the mornings? The red themed skeleton thought to himself, quickly scurrying to his feet.
"Pathetic." The tall, slim monster growled. "We're going on a walk." He stated in his usually loud voice.
Roughly, he grabbed Red's collar and started to drag him to the front door where their shoes were along with the shorter skeleton's leash.
After years of this, the older skeleton just basically gave up. He was physically weaker than his brother so he couldn't overpower him, and if he did run away... Where would he go? He had no money since Edge constantly kept him inside the damn house other than to take him out on 'walks'. He didn't have any friends since Edge not only scared them away but also turned many of them against him... He honestly didn't even know how to bathe himself at this point!
True to his brother's words, he was pathetic... He doesn't even remember much of his middle school teachings, which was around the time his little brother got a growth spurt and an attitude. He probably couldn't even last on the streets for very long...
A gagged gasp left the short skeleton as he was dragged from their house to the early morning streets. Surprisingly, no one was out that day.
Right... It's a Saturday... No one wants to be up early on a Saturday... Red thought, jogging a little to keep up with his brother's longer strides.
Soft huffs left him as his brother only quickened his pace.
Pain flared in the short's ribcage, right where his lungs were suppose to be. He didn't understand why, but kept it quiet... If he said anything about it to Edge, he'd get a beating and be forced on his hands and knees for the rest of their walk...
God, he didn't want to go through that embarrassment again... It took forever for that to die down!
Soon the two ended somewhere that the taller brother hadn't brought the other before... The houses looked taller and nicer... As well as cleaner... They all seemed so pretty...
A rough tug of the leash brought him back to where he was, quickly moving to keep up with his Boss.
Maybe another half hour passed and the two ended up somewhere secluded... not really. People could still appear and disappear, it was just the road didn't have any cars on it at the moment.
"Sit." The younger brother demanded, causing Red to basically fall on his tailbone. He didn't feel pain about that anymore. "Stay here, I'm going to be talking with some people." While talking, the meaner brother tugged Red's leash over to an old and rusty bus stop pole.
The pole was far enough away that it tugged on the collar slightly, making it just a little harder for the smaller to breathe. Yet, close enough that the smaller monster wouldn't be fainting from complete lack of oxygen.
Once the leash was tied tightly where it would take a while to untie it, the cruel brother left.
The short skeleton waited for ten minutes after he no longer could see his brother before getting up and sitting on the old bench.
