I watched the little mortal walk into my cavern. I couldn't tell if they were a female or a male as they were both small and petite, but didn't seem to have breasts as a female would..

There was the smell of blood from their sack and they were dressed in the garbs of the Priests from the local villages.

Huh... I thought they forgot all about their Guardian.

I moved slightly around to the other side of the room, right in front of them, invisible to the eye. Yet, when I had gazed upon their face, I was frozen to the spot!

While all the other Priests and Priestesses were old crones with wrinkles in every form or the other, their skin tarnish and paled to the color of snow, this one was the most gorgeous.

Their skin held only the wrinkles of smiles around their mouth and eyes, their skin the color of a rich walnut. Their eyes were this wonderful grey blue with flecks of green and brown, colors that could become hazel in certain lighting. Their deep blonde, almost brown, hair was cut short and pulled back into a bun, it being pinned in place by a very colorful flower.

They looked so gorgeous.

After putting the bloody offering in front of the tall stand that acted like an alter for me, they went to leave.

I don't know what had possessed me in the moment, but I went up to them and placed my head on their shoulder.

Instantly they stopped moving, and I half expected fear to spread across their face, as I wasn't really known to be very nice to those that displeased me. Still, they surprised me by simply raising their hand to rub my long snout.

They lifted my head up with their hands, turning so they would be facing me, a gentle and warm smile adorning their young face. Their eyes glowed with a smile as well.

"Hello, My Guardian. What do you need?" Their voice was fluid and smooth as calm water, gentle and sweet like a rich flower. I needed more of their voice.

I leaned forward once more, pressing my snout into their throat. They simply tipped their head back with a the most innocent giggle that I had heard in all of my life!

Closing my eyes, I breathed in their scent. It was sweet, like honey and some of the purple flowers that grew in the water, but there was a trace of herbs that didn't belong near this tribe, exotic herbs. The scent matched her so well, it was just so perfect...

Another giggle left the mortal, their delicate hands caressing my head. Their hands were calloused in certain areas, but I oddly found it pleasing. It made them seem more capable than most of the other Priests and Priestesses.

Taking one last breath of their scent, I pulled away from them. They were still smiling, though their cheeks were a bit more red in color, blush maybe?

"Oh, the sun nears the horizon." They muttered, their eyes on the ground that was now bathed with deep gold light. "I must hurry to the temple, My Guardian."

I growled loudly, making them look towards me with confusion.

"Stay." I growled, my voice muffled and gargled, as if I was speaking underwater. In my monster form, it's really hard to speak... Very hard to speak.

Their eyes lighten as they giggled once more, a smile spreading across their face.

"I shall stay with you till the single rays of the sun, My Guardian. I wish not upset Father Meki and Mother Hagne. They may have aged and withered, yet their eyes seek blood still." The little thing warned, yet their eyes held no worry nor fear, not of me nor the consequences.

"Good." I gruff outed.

The mortal smiled more brightly, their hands gliding skillfully on my head. A gentle purr sounded from me as I pressed my forehead into their chest.

Another giggle sprung from them as their nibble fingers gentle swam through my feathers and fur, easily working out knots in both.

"I see you, My Guardian," Their heavenly voice broke our peaceful silence. "I see you with my hands, I see no monster, but a creature needeth love." They finished, their words making my body shiver.

I pulled away from them, moving out of their reach. The mortal didn't follow, but waited calmly and patently for me instead.

"What name is you?" I gargled out, my voice becoming deeper and more raspy.

They didn't wince nor back away, but responded quickly and without hesitation.

"I am none more than a wondering Priestess, giveth no name other than by cruelty or lust." She simply responded, bowing her head in what I saw as guilt.

Placing a claw finger under her chin, I carefully forced her to look up where my eyes were.

"You are Ink." I told my words more clear this time. "You are named Ink, the wondering Priestess."

Ink's guilt faded away as that smile spread across those perfect lips.

"I thank you, My Guardian." Her words were true to her heart, true to her eyes.

A rumbling sound came from me again as I pressed my snout into the area where the shoulder and neck meet, breathing in her intoxicating scent.

The wondering Priestess let me, her hands brushing across my skull in the most peaceful way.

Closing my eyes, I forced myself to pull away, but I did pick them up so she could come and sleep with me.

Ink didn't complain nor said a word about my chamber, only shaking her head with a gentle smile.

We laid in the mess of soft leave, blankets of wool and silk, and I believe a bunch of large flowers.

"I wilt make you a bed by three suns, My Guardian." The young thing murmured, curling themselves into me.

A smile of my own formed on my monstrous lips. How sweet of her, how kind.

"Sleep, my Priestess."
