He tossed and pulled, hissing and growling, but it wasn't enough. They were stronger than him.

The small body gave a whine like cry out, magenta colored tears falling from their glowing eyes.

They were scared...

A shriek sounded from the darkness below the small body, another body quickly surfacing to help the younger.

The older being yanked and tugged on the ropes, growing annoyed.

It didn't take long before the rope gave way to the other's strength, snapping and ripping.

The smaller being scurried out, moving towards the dark depths below. His savior tried to follow, but the broken ropes tangled around their lower body.

They pulled and tugged, but found it useless.

They were stuck... But they knew they wouldn't be gone for too long, after all, their people would look for them.

A black boned skeleton yawned lightly, stretching a bit.

He was absolutely exhausted... The night prior, his girlfriend decided they should binge watch some drama. Now, he tried sleeping during it, but she kept waking him up for 'the best part' of the same damn episode... Till two in the morning.

"Jesus! Don't ya look dead, home slice!" Another skeleton shouted, this one having pale white bones, wearing sunglasses.

The darker monster winced at the loud sound, grumbling about how noisy his younger brother was being.

"Fresh, can you not yell when I'm right next to you?" The taller brother growled, giving a light glare.

The smaller one only gave a soft chuckle, nodding. He does admit, he tends to be overly loud... Something that many people don't like about him.

"Dude, last night we got somethin' epic!" The smaller skeleton lightly shouted, keeping it to a more reasonable volume.

A raised eyebrow was given.

"Don't we always get something 'epic'?" There was mild annoyance in his voice at that.

Most days, they only get some weird chemical that was found in the water or some poor mutated animal.

The other shook his head.

"Not like this, brah!" Suddenly he lowered his voice and whispered close to his brother's ear. "We got a mer."

This got another raised eyebrow. His brother doesn't lie to him, sometimes over exaggerates a few things, but not like this.

The news made the other's tired strides become full of energy, going back to his powerful walk.

In moments, he was in his center, to which he heard loud screeches and shrill calls with splashing water. The scent of blood hung in the air.

It didn't take long before his yellow and blue eyes found the source of all of the chaos.

In a rather small tank, was a white skeleton, who's upper half held delicately designed swirls and patterns on his perfect pale bones. The lower half, though, was a long and beautiful tail, it softly glowing in the lighting.

The mer-skeleton was the one making all the noise, "sitting" up in the tank to swipe at anyone who got too close, staining both them and their water with blood and magic from the other scientists.

The glitch face palmed at his other colleagues who were still trying to get close to an openly aggressive entity. He swears, they're just giant idiots with PhDs.
