Wooyoung awoke, probably much earlier than he would usually wake up, but unlike most mornings, he'd never been so ready for the day. The moment his eyelids opened, he was wide awake.

Why?

Because today, was a rare day.

The rarest of rare.

Throwing back his blankets, he didn't even bother to put his slippers on as he rushed down the hallway, and straight into Hongjoong's room.

'Hyung!!!' He ran over and pounced onto the dead looking body in the bed, feeling slightly guilty for waking him. Wooyoung crawled up so he was looking down over Hongjoong with his red hair fanning out ridiculously messily over his pillow.

He groaned a little, eyes squinting as he rolled over. 'Wooyoung,' he mumbled, a sound that would have been unintelligible if not for Wooyoung having been used to hearing it for years now.

Wooyoung bounced on the mattress, excitement almost swelling him whole. He felt like a little boy again. He couldn't even remember the last time they'd spent the day together.

'Joo~oo~oong~~'

'Woo~oo~oo~young~~'

Woo smiled as he saw the hint of a smirk cross the older's face.

'Get down here,' Hongjoong mumbled, holding the blankets up for him to crawl underneath.

Wooyoung almost squealed with glee as he did so, crawling up next to him.

'Yeosang texted me that you had drinks with a boy last night.'

Hongjoong groaned, his eyes still closed sleepily.

'What was his name?'

'Mmm, Seonghwa,' he mumbled, half asleep. 'He'sacolleague.'

'Nice try, but I'm not fooled.'

'He is!'

Wooyoung giggled against Hongjoong's side. 'So you can form coherent words now.'

Hongjoong groaned again. Sucking in a deep breath, he suddenly turned and started attacking Wooyoung with tickles and raspberries, making him laugh hysterically. It was just like they were children all over again.

'H-Hyung!' Wooyoung tried to squeal between bursts of laughter, withering under his devilish tickles

Hongjoong eventually caved, finally letting him catch his breath.

The two fell into a soft silence as they laid, Wooyoung turning over so they were forehead to forehead.

Hongjoong eventually spoke, his sleepy morning voice back to its mumble. 'This's nice.'

Wooyoung smiled, feeling happier than he had in a seriously long time.

'I'm sorry I wasn't here the other night.' He put an arm over Wooyoung, nuzzling his head against his, their hair tangling together and making white noise between them. 'God, Woo. I wanted so badly to come straight home. I felt awful for not being here...'

Wooyoung felt his heart melt. 'I know~. It's okay, Hyung. I'm fine. Yeosang probably just needed to slap me once more than he did. I was probably still half asleep.' He laughed softly, closing his eyes.

'Half asleep or not, I'm sorry I wasn't there, Woo. I'm sorry I'm never here anymore...'

'You're always there, Joong.' Wooyoung whispered, his breath starting to slow. 'You're always a phone call away, and when I need you the most, I know if I ask you, you'll come.'

Hongjoong nodded against him, their hair scrunching together again. 'Is that why you never ask me to come home?'

'Mhm.' Wooyoung idly took the neck hem of Hongjoong's sweater in his hand and curled it in his fingers; his own way of making sure that even if he fell asleep, he wouldn't let the boy disappear on him.

'You should ask me to come home more often.'

'No, because then when I really really need you, you won't be able to come.' And the rawness in his voice was unmistakable.

'I'll always come, Woo. You and Sang are my family. No matter how much I love my job, no matter how important it is to me, my family will always come first. Always. You two are my highest priority. You always have been, and you always will be.'

Wooyoung smiled. Usually, hearing either of his Hyung's talk so seriously, it would have made him teary, but today, he was too happy for his day to be stained with tears. He was content in his Hyung's arms, warm and protected, and absolutely nothing could ruin his mood.

'I know we say it jokingly all the time, and it doesn't really mean anything, but I really, actually love you, Hyung...' Wooyoung cringed at his own words, but after the scare he'd had the previous night, he'd promised himself he would make sure he told Hongjoong, for real.

And Hongjoong's heart melted. 'Aww, hun. I really, actually love you too.' Eyes still closed, he reached up and patted the boy's head. 'Although Woo, I don't know what you're on about with this 'we say it but don't mean it.' I mean it!'

Wooyoung cringed, but of course he knew deep down he had meant it too.

'So did I, Hyung. So did I.'
