Days had gone past and Yunho hadn't heard a thing from just about everyone. San had kind of faded away for some unknown reason - probably caretaking - and Mingi had held his word and had given him space. And a lot of it. Yunho hadn't seen him once, despite definitely hearing that he was back at work.
Sighing, Yunho looked back at the patient file in front of him. Placed in emergency, Yunho appreciated the fast paced workplace environment. The bustling atmosphere was a perfect distraction for his whirlwind of emotions following him around. He didn't know what was causing it, but he was starting to feel particularly overwhelmed, which was starting to creep into the front of his mind at unexpected, inconvenient times.
'Jung Saem, which patient do you have in your hands?'
Yunho turned around to see his buddy walk into the nurses station, glancing at the file he was holding.
'Woman by the name of Jiyong came in thirty-six weeks pregnant. Her GP told her she was having Braxton Hicks, but the nurse took her blood pressure and she's hypertensive at one fifty-five on ninety-six and she's showing proteinuria.'
'Why's she in ED? She should've gone up to the obstetric emergency review centre.'
Yunho shrugged. 'No clue. Should I page gynae?'
His doctor nodded. 'I suppose so.. Are there no nurses around to do it?'
Yunho didn't even bother look.' They're busy, I'll do it. It'll take two seconds.'

Ten minutes later, Yunho found himself giving an instructional handover to a nurse for a patient. Finishing up, he sanitised his hands on the way out of the cubicle and froze as he saw a figure he recognised walking into ED through the staff door.
Mingi.
Dressed in scrubs, a hairnet and a theatre drape, Mingi walked up to the nurses station, picking up the file for the hypertensive pregnant lady, taking handover from Yunho's mentor before walking down to the stall where the patient was.
'Jung Saem, are you okay?'
Snapping from his daze, Yunho looked around, and then down, as a quite substantially shorter nurse tapped him gently on the shoulder, looking up at him.
'U-Yes, I'm fine, thank you.' Composing himself, Yunho walked up to the nurses station and looked at the electronic patient board, finding who he would see next.
'Can someone please remove Park Jiyong from the board and transfer her to ORC?'
Yunho glanced over his shoulder to see his mentor seeing the woman and Mingi off, taking her upstairs to Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Mingi didn't see him, focussing on his job, and as Yunho watched from the desk, he felt his chest tighten.
So he really is okay...
Yunho nodded slowly, coming to terms with his own emotions. A relief washed over him that Mingi looked like he was doing alright. But with that, Yunho felt a pang of disappointment wash through him. He hadn't realised how much he had been hoping Mingi would look up, or how much he realised he was deep down half running off of the fact that Mingi had still cared as much as he had before...
'Jung Saem!'
Yunho snapped out of it and looked up to find his doctor handing him two patient files. 'I know you're a student, and I'm sorry to ask this, but are you confident enough with cannulation and specs?'
Yunho nodded. 'What do you want me to do?'
'Can you cannulate the man in bay three and set up a vaginal spec in fifteen. I was thinking if we can get all this done, I can show you a patient who came in with a rare cardiac anomaly which would be a good learning experience for you.'
Yunho nodded. 'Thank you... I'll get these done.'
'Give me a yell if you need help.'
'Will do.'

A/N: Some of that might be confusing. It's probably half supposed to be to show the work environment. The take home message is in the Yungi, lol
