Mingi felt his stomach drop.

They were looking at the bio labs building.

'Yunho-' he breathed, immediately wanting to turn back.

But Yunho just shook his head. 'It's okay. I promise. Do you trust me?'

Mingi's wide anxious eyes darted around. His mouth opened, but nothing came out as he stuttered around air.

'Come on. It's okay.' He took Mingi's wrist again, but when he didn't walk, Yunho turned to look at him. 'Min.' He slipped his grip down further until he was holding his hand, and it made Mingi's whole body shudder a little, shocking him. 'Min, it's okay. I promise.'

And so when Yunho took a small step backwards towards the labs, Mingi slowly followed, his eyes fixed on the other. The butterflies in his stomach multiplied with every step that he took, bringing him closer and closer to his least favourite place on earth...

But Yunho stopped as they got to the door.

'Why'd you stop?' Mingi asked shakily, realising that he was kind of squeezing his hand out of terror. He tried to relax, but his body didn't really want to obey.

Yunho leaned against the wall, just holding on as tightly as Mingi was squeezing. 'I'm in no rush. I certainly don't want to go home right now.' He gazed up out from under the building's entrance awning at the night sky. 'Do you know anything about astrology?'

Mingi choked. 'A-about, what? Astrology? Like, stars?'

Yunho nodded, resting his head back against the wall. 'San used to try and tell me stuff, but I never retained any of it.'

Mingi felt himself smile. 'San really did used to love talking about stars... I think he's most of the reason I love the night sky so much... Taught me to enjoy the smaller things...'

Yunho moved his gaze to him as he said the last part of his sentence... He looked at him for
a while, before smiling. 'Do you remember anything he said?'

Mingi laughed, moving to stand beside him against the wall. 'Not really, to be honest. I think he mentioned the brightest stars are actually planets? Or did I just make that up?'

Yunho chuckled. 'That sounds vaguely familiar.'

The two stood, gazing up at the sky, hand in hand, for long enough that Mingi completely relaxed. He realised that his grip on Yunho's hand had calmed right down, and his breathing softened. He could almost have forgotten that he was leaning against the bio labs...

Yunho turned his head to the side. 'Do you like ice cream?'

Mingi turned his head, momentarily surprised at how close they were. 'U-uh, yes? Why?'

Yunho squeezed his hand for a moment and used his other to tap on his forearm, before standing back up off of the wall. 'Let's go get ice cream.'

Mingi, who had suddenly remembered why they were there, looked between Yunho and the lab door. 'B-but...'

Yunho smiled. 'I was only going to take you to the bottom of the steps, but you did so well I decided to bring you to the door. You aced it.'

Mingi, confused, just stood, staring at Yunho, while his brain processed. 'Soo... were, not? going inside?'

Yunho shook his head. 'I promised you that it would be okay. Do you trust me now?'

A small, grateful and heartfelt smile crept onto Mingi's lips. He nodded.

And Yunho smiled. 'I'm proud of you, Min.' He reached up and ruffled his hair, before giving his hand one more squeeze and then letting go, shoving his hands in his pockets. 'Look at you! You walked up here all by yourself. And you're standing next to the labs with a smile on your face.' Yunho reached up and pinched one of his cheeks, before returning his hand to his pocket.

Mingi laughed softly, shaking his head. 'I didn't do it by myself. You were here...'

Yunho shook his head. 'You did it all by yourself. I can't make you do anything. Only you make your own decisions.' He gave him a smile, before heaving a great sigh. 'Now come on. I'm getting cold, and I'm craving ice cream. Let's go.'

And Mingi couldn't help laughing. 'Okay~'
