Eight boys, eight stories, eight people who are just doing their best when the sun rises each morning, to push through the new day, and navigate the rough waters strewn before them that is 'life.'
Pushing throu...
Mingi shook his head, his face serious. 'He has to go to hospital, San. There are so many things that could have, and still could go wrong. He needs to be checked.'
Mingi watched as San ran his hands through his hair as he always did when he was stressed to the max. 'He refuses to go, I don't know what else to do, Min. I've asked him a million times. I don't know why, but he will not go. It's like trying to get a cat in a bathtub.'
'Is it because his Hyungs work there? Take him to another hospital.'
San shook his head. 'I already suggested that. He still won't go. Fuck, Mingi I don't know what to do. I can't get him to agree, and even if I take him, he's said over and over that he's just going to regject treatment anyway until they are left with no option but to send him home.'
Mingi bit his lip as he thought, distressed.
San dropped his voice so low that it was almost silent. 'Min, should I just tell his Hyung? Hwa has Hongjoong's number...'
Mingi shook his head. 'That's not your place.' He reached out and took San's shoulders in his hands, trying to steady him. 'Okay, what about booking a GP appointment?'
San looked up at him with such wide puppy eyes that Mingi felt his stress reflected in those dark irises. 'I didn't think of that. I'll go ask him now.'
He immediately turned and left Mingi's room, rounding the corner and going into his own. Mingi followed.
Wooyoung was curled up on his side in San's bed, and despite the dorm being a pretty reasonable temperature, he was under twice as many blankets as would be expected.
San knelt down beside him, gently nudging him awake. 'Wooyoung-ah, you're not getting any better... Will you let me take you to a general practise? There'll be no hospitals...' He shook Wooyoung again, before his voice suddenly cracked as he begged. 'Please?'
Wooyoung rolled over, and as his face came into view, Mingi had a bad feeling.
'Sannie, I just want to sleep. I'm so tired...'
Sannie?
Mingi moved forward and squatted down beside San. 'Wooyoung, do you remember me?'
Wooyoung's eyes drifted open at the new voice, but aside from the initial surprise, he didn't seem to react. 'Mmm. San calls you Min.'
Mingi smiled. 'Yeah, he does. Woo, can I call you that?'
He nodded.
'Woo, can I take your temperature?'
Wooyoung shrugged and murmered a small 'Mm.' But that was all.
Mingi reached out a hand and put it to his forehead. 'Are you sure your cold, hun?'
Wooyoung nodded, pulling the blankets up.
Mingi looked to San, who was obviously just as worried as he was. 'Woo hun, if San let's you sleep in the back of the car on the way, will you let us take you to the GP's office? Just to make sure you're okay? It'll be super quick, and you can be back in bed before you know it.' He brushed the boy's damp hair back as he pressed his cold hand to his forehead, trying to cool him down.
'Promise it'll be quick?'
San heaved a massive sigh of relief beside him. 'It'll be as quick as we can make it. San, d'you wanna ring? I'm gunna get a wet cloth for his head.' He then mouthed to San, tell them what happened so they know it's important.
San nodded, before getting up, but he quickly turned again as he thought of something. Do I tell them he won't go to hospital? He mouthed.
Mingi nodded. 'Okay Woo. Just rest up. Ima go get some pain killers and a washcloth, okay?'
Wooyoung smiled softly and nodded, humming his response.
'Okay. I'll be right back.'
