The instant Mingi pushed the door open, little children came running up to him, squealing with excitement. He crouched down and gave them each a hug.
'Haiii guys! Are you all ready for practise?!' He asked in an adorably soft yet excited voice.
'Yesss!' the children all replied in their tiny high pitched voices.
Yunho had absolutely no idea what they were doing here. He knew this was San's dance studio, but he'd never actually been inside the building. He'd only ever dropped him off or picked him up, so this was a first.
'Oop! I hear mischief going on out here! Are you all getting up to no good?!'
San's voice floated down the hallway, and Yunho saw all the heads turn, kids giggling excitedly.
Mingi stood, pulling one of the smaller children onto his hip as he picked them up. 'San-ah, I brought a visitor,' he said with a smile, stepping aside to reveal Yunho standing awkwardly next to the door.
'Oh? Yun?' San came straight up, ruffling a particularly excited child on the head as he did. 'What are you doing here?! You didn't come to study with Min did you?'
Yunho choked and turned to Mingi. 'Wait- you actually study here?'
Mingi gave him an incredulous expression. 'Of course? That's what I said. What did you think we were going to do?'
Yunho felt his cheeks heat up, for absolutely no reason. He'd certainly been confused when Mingi had said to meet him at the bus to go study, when there was a library, literally right there. 'Honestly? I don't know, but this is fine...'
Having spent the bus ride arm to arm, Yunho might have thought that perhaps he was getting himself into a somewhat awkward position, had Mingi not been gazing out the window innocently like a child. Being denied every time he asked where they were going, scenario after scenario went through his head.
He'd been even more confused though when they had walked right up to San's studio. It was the last place he'd thought they would end up...
San walked up, and it was then that Yunho realised that he was wearing a concerned expression. In amongst the secret bus trips and confused thoughts, he'd almost totally forgotten that he'd had a serious talk with San about his course, and he had looked really worried...
It made him feel sick.
Putting on a smile, Yunho glanced up to find Mingi giving him a soft, empathetic smile. He knows, Yunho thought. He knows San is stressed, and he knows it makes me feel bad...
Mingi reached out and took Yunho gently by the elbow. 'San-ah, we're gunna go inside.'
San frowned, glancing between the two of them for a moment before nodding. 'Okay. Don't scare Yun,' he warned with an amused smile. 'I'll be in soon. I've just got to talk to a parent first.'
Mingi smiled. 'Okay! And I wont~ I promise.' Fluffing the hair of the child still on his waist, Mingi smiled widely. 'You excited for class?'
'Yes!'
'Are you going to show Hyung how much you're learned?'
Yunho felt his lips pull into a smile as he watched the two interact. The child was so excited, and Mingi was practically glowing.
As he put the boy back down on his feet, he beamed as he turned his attention to the other kids. 'Guys, this is my new friend! Yunho! Do you think you'd be able to show him how much you've learned in class as well?'
The children all looked up with nervous eyes, but as Mingi put a trusting hand on the back of Yunho's elbow and nodded encouragingly to the kids, they seemed to relax.
Nodding, smiles started to grow on their tiny little faces once again, returning to their excited state for class.
'Come on, Yunho,' Mingi said, softer this time, meant only for his ears. He left his hand on his elbow as he led him down the hall.
'Welcome to my study space.'
