'Ring him!' Wooyoung complained, pulling Yeosang's sleeve. 'He's been gone for agessss...'
Yeosang reached up and fluffed his hair. 'Woo, Hongjoong is a grown man. He's quite capable of taking care of himself. But! I will ring him, because I know you won't ever hush if I don't.' Yeosang stood up, walking to the kitchen counter to use the home phone. Darkness had fallen about an hour or so ago, and so there was a soft glow of the lamps in the living room illuminating the walls.
Yeosang turned and leaned against the counter as he dialled Hongjoong's number, gazing at his family as he did so. It melted his heart to see his parents and brother all sitting in the living room, spending time together again. It had been so long...
'Hai-ya, Sang. What's up?'
Yeosang smiled at Hongjoong's voice as it came through the phone. 'Hyung-ah, Wooyoung thinks you've had enough and skipped country.'
Hongjoong's laugher floated through the line. 'I was going to ring a little later after you all had probably showered. I'm actually at Seonghwa's place.'
Yeosang choked, before laughing. 'Woo hun, Hongjoong is more than fine.'
'Ya.'
'Oh come on. Don't act like you're being held there against your will.'
Yeosang could just about hear Hongjoong rolling his eyes.
'I won't leave the front light on?'
Hongjoong laughed. 'Umm... Text you the answer to that later?'
Yeosang smirked. 'I hope you've been practising brushing your teeth with your fingers.'
'Oh stop it.'
'Never. Woo hun, do you want to say anything to Joong?'
Wooyoung pulled himself from the couch and carefully made his way over. 'Yes! Wait! Don't hang up yet!'
Hongjoong's laughed floated through the phone. 'He sounds happy,' he said, his voice smiling.
'He sure is. Here, I'll put him on. Don't have too much fun,' Yeosang teased.
'Whatever. Text you later.'
'Hyung-ah!' Wooyoung's voice was full of amusement. 'Are you at Seonghwa's place?'
Hongjoong giggled a little. 'I might be. Is there a problem with that?'
Yeosang watched Wooyoung smirk. 'Nope~.'
Behind them, Yeosang turned and laughed as his mother called out 'who's Seonghwa?'
'Ya! Now I'm going to be having an awkward conversation with your mom in the morning.'
'In the morning?!' Wooyoung gasped. 'I thought Sang said Seonghwa was useless?!'
Yeosang laughed as his mother's eyes widened with mischief. 'Joong you're so screwed when you get home,' he called from in the back. 'Make sure I'm awake to see the drama.'
'Ew I already want to cry. Wooyoung, that was your fault. You just exposed me.'
'Too bad! You should have told me you were going to visit doctor boy!'
'We're just working on his research.'
'Yeah. His research, I'm sure.'
Yeosang snorted from the background as Wooyoung sighed. 'Fine. Have fun researching. But I hope you know I expect to hear all about it tomorrow. I have to live vicariously through you two now that I'm useless.'
'Ya!'
'Ya!'
Yeosang and Hongjoong's scolding came at the same time, making Wooyoung laugh. 'You two are so similar, How did that happen?' He pouted, not wanting to hang up. 'Now that I see you every day, I miss you...'
Hongjoong's "Hyung sigh" came through the phone, indicating all jokes had passed. 'I know, hun. But I really wanted you to have some time with your family. We can have lunch tomorrow all together before they go back home if you like?'
Wooyoung smiled, his heart warming. 'Really?'
'Really~.'
'Mmm... Okay... Be careful.. If Seonghwa is mean, tell him I'll beat him up.'
Hongjoong laughed. 'I will. Bye Wooyoung.'
'Baiii~~~.'
