"So, are we chasing the same thing?", Dean stated, "Alright, but we don't need any help, we can do it on our own, so you can go home again"

"Dean", Sam admonished him and stepped in front of Josie, "If you are already here, you are welcome to help us."

"Thanks Sam, but even if you hadn't offered me, I would have continued to hunt this monster, so far no hunter has stolen my prey from me"

Dean just raised his eyebrows and turned his head disapprovingly. Not that he would not appreciate her help, after the incident with Jo and Charlie he became cautious with female hunters, because as soon as he became friends with them, they were snatched from him.

"Is there any evidence of what connects the victims other than that they were all female and in their early thirties?", Josie asked the men.

"Yes, all women were murdered on the day of their wedding or shortly before", Sam reported and passed on a testimony to them confirming this.

"The murders all happened in close proximity and the victims are always future brides, that looks very much like a ghost who has something against getting married", said the brunette thoughtfully and stared at the statement of the last victims fiancé.

"I sure get that as soon as you are married it's game over", said Dean, amused.

Inevitably Josie looked up at him, bit her lip, and covered the engagement ring with the other hand. Dean noticed this unconscious reaction and guiltily cleared his throat.

“Oh, but of course there are also people for whom this works, I just couldn't do it”, he exclaimed and looked for a way to change the subject, “How about something to eat? On the way I saw a food stand, I could get something”

He quickly grabbed his jacket and pulled it over his shirt. As soon as Sam and Josie had communicated their orders, Dean was already up on his way.

"Is your fiancé a hunter too?", Sam wanted to know in the meantime, to start a casual chat.

“No, he's a banker, the complete opposite of a hunter. Elegant, courteous, intelligent, everything that I'm not”, she enthused, but her tone worried Sam.

"Then why do you sound so sad?"
