For some reason he didn't want to show that he felt sorry for the huntress. She had lost everything and had even less than he and his brother had when their father died. At least they had each other and hunter friends who supported them whenever they needed help ever since they were little boys. Dean remembered it all too well and knew that it was his duty to give her a helping hand. And if he could only offer her a hard bed and a lukewarm shower, it would be more than the brunette would have ever hoped for.
"Does that mean I can come with you?", she beamed in disbelief.
"That's what 'follow us' usually means, yes", scoffed Dean and let the Impala slightly roll on to show her that it wanted to get going.
With a happy grin, Josie jumped into her car and chased the Chevy all the way to a rundown building protruding from a hillside. Sam got out and opened the large gate so Dean could drive inside. Josie, however, was so flashed that she did not realize that Sam was already waving her over. She slowly rolled her Dodge into the huge garage. Her eyes widened when she saw the other cars and motorcycles. The brothers didn't look like they were rich, which is why she wondered where this fleet of vehicles came from.
"Welcome to the Men of the Letters", said Dean and opened the door for her.
"You're not a sick cult, are you?", she asked in uncertainty and got out of the car.
Sam shook his head laughing while Dean shrugged his shoulders as if he wasn't sure himself.
"I don't know how to thank you!", she muttered shyly and accompanied the men into the central part of the bunker.
"We'll surely find something", whispered the older brother, putting an arm around her shoulders.
"Is he always like that?", she asked Sam, who only nodded with a smile.
"Hey!", Dean protested, "I'm the most charming person I know!"
"You don't know a lot of people, do you?", Josie said quick-wittedly and left the surprised hunter behind.
Sam led her through the main rooms while Dean looked for fresh sheets for their guest.
"And this is your room", Sam announced to the huntress, while Dean came in with the sheets.
"You are giving me my own room?", she said with her mouth wide open, because she had assumed to sleep on the couch for some time, but she didn't know that the men lived in a huge underground base.
"That's how I must have looked when I realized that I have my own bedroom", grinned Dean in Sam's direction.
"Make yourself at home Josie, if you need anything just say it", the taller Winchester offered her.
"I really don't know how I can ever make amends for what you're doing for me", she purred and hugged them both.
"Don't worry about it", Dean fended off calmly and gently stroked her back, "We have enough space and maybe there is finally something happening here. Sammy prefers to brood over his books than to painting the town"
