Days later, Sam and Josie sat across from each other in the bunker library in silence. Both were engrossed in their reports on their laptops. They looked for new cases because after the war things had gone quiet. There were no demons causing trouble anywhere, nor any strange incidents of people disappearing. Josie could hardly endure the unusual boredom, she would like to just drive off and hope that she happened to come across a crime scene.

"What' up nerds, have you found something yet?" Dean asked and shuffled over to them in the library in sweatpants and dressing gown.

"Tell me, when was the last time you washed that lousy rag?" Josie wanted to know without looking away from the screen.

"Since we moved here? Once. I didn't want the dust of a dead clerk on me," Dean replied, leaning on the back of her chair.

"It's best if you leave your bathrobe on next time you take a shower, which will hopefully be quite soon," she murmured in concentration, while Sam smiled behind his laptop.

"Hey, don't be so mean, I still smell...", Dean protested and smelled his armpits, but frowned, "...Well maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea," he then relented and took a step away from Josie.

"I think I've got something," the woman blurted out happily, "Vampires, and even quite close by"

Her eyes sparkled as if Christmas and Easter were together.

"Vampires? Here?" Sam stopped short and looked at his brother with a frown.

"We've eradicated every nest for a hundred miles," Dean remarked in amazement.

"Maybe those beasts got a new one," Josie speculated.

"Then maybe we should wait until they're complete, I don't want to have to slaughter those bastards every few weeks. Vampires breed like rats!" the older Winchester growled, unenthusiastic.

Josie turned to Dean and shook her head in disbelief.

"But if we strike now, we'll finish off the nest before they spread! Sam, say something too", she demanded and turned to her moral support.

"Unfortunately, I have to agree with Dean on this point. Sweetheart, you've been in, let's call it rehab, since we won the war, but you can go a few more days without a hunt," he agreed with his brother.

Dean sympathetically put a hand on her shoulder.

"Come on, don't do anything stupid, we'll take care of it in two or three days," he promised her and left the room to finally take a shower and put the coat in the washing machine.

Grumbling, she sat in front of the laptop and couldn't think of anything else than finding this nest. Eagerly she looked for all possible places where the vampires could find shelter.

On the other side of the desk, Sam struggled to stay awake, at the moment he hardly slept because he was constantly searching for information about the Cain and the Mark.

Josie used the narrow time slot she had, to leave the bunker. It would still be a while before Dean finished showering and Sam slept just deeply enough that she could sneak away unnoticed. She hastily started the engine of her Charger and drove off. She had marked a few spots on a little map and wanted to go through one point after the other, but apparently her first attempt was successful. The brunette parked in front of a company hall and entered it on quiet soles. It seemed quiet as while the vampires flew out to get fresh prey. But then she heard a soft whimper behind a door.

"Hello?" she whispered, pushing open the door, gun drawn.

"Help!" pleaded the woman in the farthest corner.

Josie put the gun away and rushed to her.

"Are you hurt?" she asked caringly, cutting her bonds.

The prisoner shook her head wordlessly and looked at Josie.

"You are a slayer, am I right?" the stranger asked and Josie nodded.

Just as Josie wanted to help the young woman up, she jumped up and the huntress staggered backwards.

"We don't need hunters here, but if you become one of us, you'll surely be of use to us!" she hissed through her fangs and grabbed Josie.

"You're not prey, you're the decoy!" The brunette realized and was pushed against the wall roughly.

Before Josie could draw one of her weapons, let alone the blood in the syringe she was carrying, the vampire's bitten hand was pressed over her mouth. She fought against it with all her might, but the monster was much stronger than her and even if she tried to keep her lips closed, blood still got into it.

"Sleep well, beauty," the blonde whispered and banged Josie's head against the wall behind her.

The hunter collapsed unconscious and fell to the bare concrete floor. The monster hastily dragged her budding creation away, because she knew where there was one hunter, another couldn't be far away.
