Back in town it still seemed quiet, Sam and the rest of the group had everything under control, as soon as groups formed and attacked each other, they exorcised the demons so that they could continue their fight where they belonged .
"And what's the point of that 'ugly seven' on your arm now? Do you have super powers now or what?" Rudy wanted to know when Dean told the hunters about his meeting with Cain.
"The mark alone won't do anything, but Cain said that it would lead me to a weapon that can then kill the most powerful demons," explained Dean.
"So we're now waiting to accidentally stumble upon the all-destroying weapon?"
The Winchester looked just as puzzled as his younger brother.
"Does Crowley know anything about this particular blade?", Josie asked, looking at Sam.
"Quite possibly, but I haven't heard from him in hours, he's in hiding," Sam shared.
"And that's what they call the King of Hell," Cliff laughed dismissively, "If Lucifer knew what became of his home."
"I think he knows that, he's right in the middle of it," the long-haired hunter recalled.
"We'll split into shifts, the demons will continue at night," Dean came back on topic, "Cliff you'll start with Rudy, after two hours Josie and I will take turns, then Sam and Tracy, we'll sleep in the same cycle, whoever is against it, better say it now"
Since no one had anything to say, the first couple packed their things while Sam and Tracy lay down. Josie tried to get herself to take a little nap, only Dean was wide awake. In the kitchen he found a used bottle of Scotch, from which he treated himself to a glass.
Again and again he stroked the fresh scar on his skin. When he heard Josie, he looked at his watch in panic, but they still had time before the change of shift.
"Why aren't you sleeping?", he asked her as she grabbed a glass of scotch as well.
"Probably for the same reason as you," she replied sadly and sat down.
She noticed that he deliberately put his hand on the mark.
"Do you feel something? Does it change you in any way?", she asked worriedly, pushing his hand away so she could touch it herself.
"No, at the moment I don't feel anything, it just feels like a wound"
Guilty, Josie pulled her fingers back, not wanting to press on the mark and maybe cause him pain.
"Josie? Do you promise me something?", Dean began quietly, "If this thing turns me into a monster, then kill me, I don't want that! I know Sam wouldn't do that and I can't ask that of him, but I know you understand."
"But-", Josie started and was cut off.
"Promise me please!", he urged with a clear gaze.
Josie nodded hesitantly and looked sadly at the floor. She didn't want and couldn't imagine killing Dean no matter what things he would do.
