It took until exhaustion overcame Dean and he sank into one of his bloody dreams. Again and again Josie woke up, sighing more annoyed each time he dreamt vividly. But she kept patience and kept stroking him until he stopped tensing up.
"Dean, it's okay, it's just a dream," she whispered in his ear.
"Josie," he pleaded and for a moment she wasn't sure if he was talking out of his nightmare.
"Yes I'm here, I'm here with you Dean" she reassured him and straightened up a bit.
"I love you, please Josie, please don't go," he whimpered.
She didn't know what to do, after all she had no idea what he was dreaming.
"I love you too Dean," she soothed the hunter, hoping he would hear.
Josie hesitated a bit, but finally she gently put her lips on his. She felt strange kissing 'lifeless' lips, but it gently woke him from his nightmare. Confused, he pushed her away from him and looked at her in shock.
"I killed him," he mumbled half asleep.
"Who did you kill?" she echoed anxiously.
"Andy," he blurted out as he pushed her away.
He needed to get up, feel the ground beneath his feet, and cool his sweaty body.
"You didn't kill Andy! Dean, it was just a dream," she assured him, looking up at him, "We didn't even know each other when Andy died and I know it was a werewolf"
Slowly but surely reality sank into his mind and he took a deep breath. It couldn't have been him at all, not even when he was a demon, because Andy was already dead then. Reassured by this fact that Josie wasn't mad at him, he sat down at the foot of the bed and ran his hands through his wet hair.
"That was the most exhausting night I've had in a long time," she confessed to him with an encouraging smile, feeling the damp side of the bed next to her, "Yuck you got it all wet, at least I hope it's sweat."
Playfully disgusted, she looked at her hand that she had just touched the mattress with. But Dean was too flustered to counter.
"Maybe a cool shower would do you good, or should I run you a bath?" she suggested, stroking his damp cold back, "You want me to come with you?"
Wordlessly and with a furrowed brow he looked at her, for he had not expected such an offer.
"You're obviously not well and it remains a one-time offer," she enlightened him and scrambled out of bed.
By the wrists she pulled him with her into the bathroom. While he pulled off the shirt, like a second skin, Josie got fresh clothes for him. The clock on Dean's wall read four in the morning. Annoyed, she sighed, thinking about how it wasn't worth going to bed again at all.
"Have you decided yet?" she inquired as she returned to the bathroom.
"The shower," he said uncertainly.
