Hours later, the time had come. Dean's lungs filled with air and after a few gasping breaths he opened his demonic black eyes. Exhausted, he looked around the gloomy empty room. It took all his strength to return from the dead and the symbols on the walls further weakened him. To return to full strength he would need his blade, but they would not give it to him. Snarling, he stared at the heavy door and screamed Sam's name loudly.
"Sammy, you can't keep me locked up here, I'm stronger than you think and when I get free I'm going to kill you! But first I'm going to make you watch me rip that lying bitch's guts out," Dean threatened angrily as Sam opened the door and entered with Josie.
Expressionless, the younger Winchester walked up to his brother and stabbed him in the neck with a syringe. Dean hissed and growled in pain as the blessed human blood burned in his veins, inevitably driving sweat to his brow.
"We'll repeat this every hour now," Sam enlightened the demon, leaning down so they were eye-to-eye, "Get used to it."
Dean's eyes reflected pure rage, the urge to kill his brother on the spot had grown immeasurably. The only thing stopping him were the chains.
"Come on, let's go," Sam said to Josie, who was standing next to the door watching the action.
"No, I'm staying here," she quietly fought back without taking her eyes off Dean, "I need answers."
Concerned, Sam looked at the woman and took one last look at Dean before comfortingly placing a kiss on her forehead and leaving her alone with his brother.
"You're really brave," the prisoner began, lifting his head a little to look at her, "After you bitch killed me, your death is definitely assured, I can tell you that much"
"You always were good at talking big, Dean" she replied dryly and sat down on a chair outside the protective circle.
As if it were the most common thing, she leaned back and elegantly crossed her legs. Amused, the bound man tilted his head and examined her. Under other circumstances, the demon would certainly have gotten involved with her. The demon in him didn't care about feelings, she would have been just a toy. A one night stand, maybe a second one. But then he would have droped her like all the others he had sweetened his nights with.
"Are you going to stare at me for an hour now? You could come over here and we'll make out some more," Dean provoked with a devilish smile on his lips.
"But then I'd have to stick a knife in your heart again, so no thanks, that would be counterproductive," she refused, trying to control herself.
She would love to slap and shake him until he came to his senses, but shaking the knight of hell out of him was hardly possible.
"I could also tell you what I've been up to the last few weeks," he suggested, watching her closely like a predator watches its prey.
"I don't think I want to know that," Josie replied honestly, not even wanting to imagine the details of his killings.
"Well, during the first time I had to look for someone for Cain, but that was quite unsuccessful, so I asked Crowley for help and moved around the houses with him and his buddies. Man, that was a blast," he enthused, "You wouldn't believe the hot girls you meet when you roam the nightlife.
Rolling her eyes, Josie sighed, trying not to imagine how many women Dean had slept with since he disappeared.
"I asume you prude girl hasn't had a lover in the meantime? You seem too tense for that," Dean laughed.
He was trying to offend her by any means necessary to get her off her back.
"Well, when you were away, Sam was there for me," she countered to his surprise, and the tiny human part of him didn't like the idea at all.
"Good for you that you found each other," he replied indifferently, suppressing the hint of jealousy.
After a minute-long pause, during which they remained silent, Dean began to tell again.
"I remember the first time. It was a woman in a gas station. Cute thing, but I didn't like her tone".
"And that's why you killed her?" echoed Josie with little wonder.
"Yeah and you know what?" he whispered and leaned forward as far as he could, "It felt great the way her hot blood dripped off my hands"
Now Josie couldn't help a stunned shake of her head.
"She was innocent, Dean!" it burst out of her, "An innocent human!"
"Hello? I'm a demon! Even if she had been the Easter Bunny. I don't care, the blade gets what it asks for and I give it to it".
Silently Josie stood up and moved the chair aside.
"What? That's it already with our nice chat? There's so much more I could tell you," Dean teased, but cried out in the next moment as another needle pierced his skin.
His body tensed and he tried to breathe away the searing pain.
"I'll see you in an hour, you can tell me about your whores after that," she hissed at him and left the room
"See you in an hour, you can tell me about your whores afterwards," she hissed at him and left the room.
Exactly one hour later Josie came back to give him the next dose of blood, this was repeated two more times.
And again the door to the dungeon opened. Dean looked slightly shaken. His shirt was already soaked in sweat and he paid no attention to Josie. Silently, he leaned his head to the side and just let it wash over him.
"That was the sixth shot, how do you feel?" she inquired, carefully pulling the needle back out.
"I'm tired," Dean admitted quietly, leaning his head against the back of the chair, "I want it to be over and then I can finally sleep."
Indeed, he looked exhausted and could barely keep his eyes open. This healing was debilitating and the conscience that was slowly returning caused yet another ache to arise.
Josie would have loved to take him in her arms and assure him that he would soon be able to do it, but she was aware that it might as well be a ruse.
