The next day, the trio prepared to face the Knights of Hell. They had set a trap for Abaddon. It was now clear what she was actually looking for in Lebanon. Neither the Winchesters nor the bunker interested her, all she wanted was Cain's blade. And that's exactly what they were offering her. Little did she know, however, that Cain no longer possessed the mark. So her plan to use the first blade to get him to join her would not work.
At the meeting point, Sam and Josie were waiting for the demons. Two nondescript-looking men approached them.
"Our boss would like to see the goods beforehand," said one coolly.
Undeterred, Sam went to the Impala's trunk and opened the box with the blade. Satisfied, the demon nodded and suddenly three more demons appeared. Josie tried not to show her concern, but when a redhead came up to her and looked at her with delight, her heart pounded in her throat.
"What a pretty meat suit you would be for one of my strongest knights," she gushed, but then turned to Sam, "You can quit your stupid game, I know it's a trap, so come on, where is this useless salesman who cheekily calls himself King?"
"We'd like to know that too, to be honest," Sam replied calmly, stepping away from the trunk.
"Have you changed sides? Very good decision", the demoness grinned and followed the hunter with her gaze.
As soon as all the demons had turned away from the car, Dean crept out of his shadowy hiding place and snatched the blade from the trunk. But they wouldn't be knights if they didn't realize something was happening behind their backs. One of Abaddon's bodyguards lunged at Dean, but felt the blade immediately. And now there was no turning back for the hunter.
The alliance between the blade and its mark was sealed with the first blood. Unstoppable, he and Sam fought their way through the bodyguards. When the last of them fell victim to the demonic knife, only Abaddon himself was missing, but she stood a little apart and smiled at Dean's eagerness. Kneeling in front of her was Josie, who was instructed not to make a single sound, even as Abaddon pulled her hair roughly.
"You two should learn a lot before you take on me," she scoffed, crouching down next to Josie, "She's such a pretty girl, I can see why you're in love with her"
Dean's hand closed so tightly around the handle of the blade that you could hear a soft crack. With an angry expression on his face, he watched as Abaddon snuggled up to Josie and smiled at him.
"What are you thinking sweetheart? What would he be willing to give just so I wouldn't kill you in front of him?", the demon whispered, glaring at the brothers playfully, "What do you think is more important to him? Peace on earth, or his cute little girl?"
Both, the Mark and Dean himself, wanted to kill the redhead. The blade, however, didn't care if Josie would die in the process.
"I want the blade," Abaddon said loudly, shoving the brunette to the ground.
She rose elegantly and stepped on Josie's throat with her heel.
"Without the mark, the blade is useless," Sam remarked, feeling with Josie.
"That's why I also want the pretty little fellow," purred the knightess, "And in exchange I might let your sweet little friend live, it depends on my mood, and right now it's good"
"So you bitch want me to fight at your side?" Dean growled and tried to control himself.
"No sweetheart, I want to destroy the blade and you will become the new vessel for Kain," she enlightened him, "Actually, I intended to keep you as a boy toy, but with that mark you are perfect for him and I see you got along well otherwise Cain would hardly have given you his scar"
"Everything has a price," Dean replied coldly and Sam looked at him in amazement.
The younger one didn't know until now how Dean had gotten the mark at all. Only now did he realize that he hadn't even asked about it.
"And I make the best prices," sounded a familiar voice.
Surprised, Abaddon turned and started to grin when she saw Crowley.
"I knew you couldn't be far when it comes to your Winchesters," she teased.
"Oh how well you know me, my dear," Crowley replied, putting his hands in his coat pockets.
Before the demon could realize what was happening, the King of Hell fired a pistol. The projectile hit the knight right between the eyes. Josie took advantage of the brief moment and kicked Abaddon's foot away, causing the demon to stagger and trip over her. Satisfied, Crowley stalked towards her as she lay motionless on the ground trying to say something.
"Never underestimate a 'useless salesman'," snarled the demon scornfully, "And occasionally the Winchesters are of great use to me."
He smiled and held up Dean's pistol, which contained cartridges engraved with a devil's trap. It never occurred to Crowley how useful such a thing could be.
"She's all yours, Dean," Crowley said and looked at the hunter, who was just waiting for his cue.
"We are many," Abaddon ground out in agony.
"I'll just cut off the snake's head, then the rest will die," Dean said confidently, while Crowley frowned in irritation.
Abaddon started to make another threat but didn't have time to say anything as the bony blade dug into her body. A silent scream escaped her throat and her entire body lit up. Josie watched Dean and a cold shiver ran down her back when she saw what cold Dean was radiating. The eyes were blank, but his gaze was relentless. As soon as the glow faded, he pulled out the blade and beamed. The only one who seemed to enjoy it was Crowley.
"Now how do we finish off the rest of the knights?" Josie asked, getting up off the ground.
"Just like we did this bitch here," Dean chuckled triumphantly, wiping the blade on Abaddon's pants.
