(A short one I did while I was procrastinating on doing math hhhfcjgfcn why did I choose to go to a class with extra math focus-)

Shuichi stood on a bridge, staring up at the sky.

The stars were beautiful and Shuichi loved staring at them. After the game he began to appreciate them more, not only because of Momota's infectious fascination with them or the fact they were a reminder to himself that he was free and everything from this point on was real...

It was because the stars reminded him of his eyes.

Kokichi and Shuichi fell in love during the game. Although they never made it official the two would occasionally visit each other late at night to be comfortably in the presence of one another. Being alone, made both Kokichi and Shuichi ease up a bit unlike when they were together with others.

But their love stopped when Shuichi broke his heart during the fourth trial and when Kokichi died it was impossible for him to get any closure after this fight. When Shuichi, Maki, and Himiko woke up they were told they were the last ones to wake up due to being in the game. They had to get rehabilitated for the first few weeks with their friends visiting often.

Except for Kokichi.

They were told Kokichi left immediately after rehabilitation telling the staff to not give away any information about him. and even during the process, he asked to be left alone. So since he woke up nobody has even seen him.

Shuichi was heartbroken as he wanted at the very least to apologize to Kokichi for what he said, for not trying hard enough to understand his boyfriend when all he longed for was to be understood.

He sighed as he took a sip of Grape Panta he had brought with him. Kokichi's favorite drink. It was way too sugary for Saihara to enjoy but that in itself reminded him of his boyfriend's over-the-top character.

"Do you like the stars too?"

He noticed someone else on the bridge a far distance away from him, a boy with white hair peeking out, his face hidden behind a skeleton hoodie he was wearing who was also looking at the night sky with awe.

"Yeah" Saihara answered "They're really pretty, it's probably the best thing I like about this world," he said. The boy chuckled.

"Pfft, you sound like one of my old classmates," he said, his hands in his pockets. "But I get what you mean. It makes life feel more...real if you know what I mean. Heh, that probably sounds stupid" he said. Shuichi nodded.

"No, I get what you mean."

"Hmm."

"What do you like about the stars?" the boy asked still not making eye contact. Shuichi let out a sigh. He didn't know why he was talking to this stranger but his voice was so calming he couldn't help but talk to him.

"They remind me of someone special I used to know..." he mumbled out. The stranger nodded.

"Yeah?" he asked wanting him to continue.

"They used to be together with me, we went through hell together but then...I did something horrible." Shuichi felt his heart start to ache as the memories of the fourth trial invaded his thoughts. The words he said to him after everything Kokichi's been through. It wasn't right. He should've made up with him before it happened. The stranger giggled and Shuichi could see a small smirk on his lips in the dark of the night.

"Ooooooooh what did you do?" he asked in a voice of a gossip girl craving drama. It made Shuichi smile a bit with how much it reminded him of Kokichi. But Kokichi didn't have white hair so that theory was out.

I messed up. I hurt his feelings and it didn't affect him well. And then I lost track of him and we've never gotten closure...so I've never moved on" he said before smiling staring at the myriad of stars decorating the sky.

"But seeing the stars...it reminds me of all the times he was happy. He'd get all excited and happy and his eyes would shine like stars." he thought of Kokichi whenever he'd get excited about something. It was the cutest thing and it made his heart melt when he saw it. "I really hope to see him one day..." What he wouldn't give to see him again and hear him laugh again.

The stranger stayed quiet for a bit before speaking up "I can understand where you're coming from. It's pretty similar to my reason for liking the stars." he laughed. Shuichi looked over. He still couldn't make out the stranger's face in the dark but felt intrigued by him. Something about him was just...too familiar.

"I used to know somebody. He was the sweetest guy I knew, pretty and smart but... We were in a sort of life and death situation when we met" he said as he pulled out one of his hands from his pocket and picked at the ends of a bandaid on his finger, although it looked like there was never any cut under it.

"I was trying to do the right thing and was hoping he'd see what my intentions were but he acted on impulse and really hurt me. I don't blame him though." He said looking down on the ground. "I thought I'd die and never see him again but I survived...I was worried he'd hate me so I chose to run away and forget him but every time I see the night sky...it reminds me of him, he really liked the color blue and the stars remind me of his smile" he chuckled and Shuichi swore he saw tears fall from his face.

"I still love him...I doubt he loves me though" he said and Shuichi could he sounded like he was in pain.

"Wow, what coincidence..." It was almost uncanny how close their situations were. The stranger nodded.

"Yeah... What was the name of your beloved anyway?" he asked. Shuichi looked down.

"Kokichi Ouma. He'd always announce it so proudly, it was adorable" The stranger seemed to flinch.

"W-What...?"

"His name was Kokichi." he repeated looking up at the stranger. The boy looked nervous as he slowly looked towards him for the first time, taking off his hoodie.

"Saihara-chan...?" At the sight of him, Shuichi's eyes widened.

The boy's hair was spiky, defying gravity and Shuichi could now see only a strand of his hair was white while the rest was violet. But what clued him to the person's identity was the person's eyes.

Those violet sparkling eyes...

"K-Kokichi...?" tears started to gather in his eyes as he stood there in shock for a moment before running at the boy with full speed and hugging him tightly. "I THOUGHT I'D NEVER SEE YOU!" he cried as the boy hugged back.

"Me too..." He whispered quietly. Shuichi pulled away, tears still falling from his eyes.

"I missed you so much I'm so sorry for what I did I just..." He got interrupted by Kokichi placing a finger on his lips

"I-It's o-okay I get it... but you don't hate me?"

"No, I never did!" Shuichi said in disbelief "I love you Kokichi I never stopped for a moment, not even once!" He said cupping his lover's face. He found him. The person who had left a hole in his heart for so long was now next to him.

"I almost have a hard time believing you're here but I should've known the great detective would find me eventually~" Kokichi said cheekily with tears still in his eyes.

And under the cover of dark night, only illuminated by the moonlight the two kissed, happy to have found each other again.

"I'm so glad to see you, Kokichi..."

"I'm glad to see you too Shumai~"
