Shuichi smiled as he quickly hurried home. He has just finished with his work and after a day of brutal cases, he couldn't wait to see his only ray of sunshine, his beloved husband. A few months ago, you'd never see Saihara so happy and in such a rush, but it had all taken a massive turn when he met him...the love of his life. He stopped in front of their home. White, birch wood house with a small swing on the front porch. Ouma's favorite flowers grew in the front yard. The house was everything they ever wanted.

Shuichi swiftly put the key in the keyhole and entered the house. "Honey, I'm home!" he said. Almost immediately after he said that his beloved came rushing at him, joyful expression on his face. "Saihara-chan~! You're here! Yay!" he said as he basically tackled Shuichi in a hug. Shuichi blushed at the sight of his husband Kokichi Ouma in his pink bunny pattern apron. Kokichi was probably one of the sweetest and most adorable people he met in his life. He was like the brightest star in the night sky. An angel at heart. At heart, because he rarely expressed this gentle nature in front of others, only ever making an exception for him.

"I was so sad that you had to stay overtime! And so mad too! So mad I might just file for a divorce!" he said pulling away and tearing up. Shuichi chuckled "But that's a lie isn't it?" Ouma's face turned serious.

"What if it isn't?"

"..."

"Pffft HAHA! Saihara, of course, I'd never leave you! You're my little sunshine after all~" he said standing on his tippy toes and pecking Shuichi on the lips, making him blush. "Although I do wish you'd spend more time with me...maybe we should take a vacation together?" he said walking over with Saihara to the dining table to discover two plates of pancakes with Shuichi's stack having a heart on top made with chocolate syrup and Ouma's decorated with strawberries and blueberries. Ah, yes. Ouma loved cooking ever since Kirumi taught him how to cook. He walked over and sat next to him by the table.

"That's a nice idea...I'd like that. But where would you want to go?" Shuichi said taking a bite of his pancakes. Like always, Ouma's pancakes taste like heaven. "Somewhere romantic and away from our friends. How about... Italy?" he proposed stuffing his mouth with blueberry pancakes. "Great! Do you have any places you wanna go to in mind?" Saihara asked, slightly surprised Ouma had finished his meal so quickly.  "Not really. Just want to sightsee a bit. Buuuut thanks to my fear of heights we can definitely throw any high places. When we were on that vacation in the mountains, when we went to see the view I was about to have a heart attack!" he said slightly embarrassed. The Supreme Leader Ouma was always scared of heights. Just being at the top of the building made him go into panic mode. "Also just out of curiosity, what was my beloved working on today? Theft? Fraud? Murder?" He asked intrigued. Shuichi chuckled and wiped away the little remains of maple syrup on Ouma's lips with a napkin.

"Well, it's the case about the death of some highschooler. He died falling from the school building. They found a hastily written suicide note and his shoes on the rooftop. However, his handwriting is way different from the one he used on his tests and letters. That's why some believe it was, in fact, a way to mask a murder." He said. Ouma smiled. "Sounds interesting! Why don't you tell me more about it?  Maybe I can help you solve a crime! I can be like your younger, optimistic partner!" He said making Shuichi giggle at the idea. They used to pretend to be detectives as kids. He'd run around in a Sherlock Holmes outfit with a magnifying glass chasing after Ouma in a black cape and black hat. They continued to talk about work for the rest of the meal, Ouma talking about his own work in the casino and Celestia's visit. Soon both of them finished eating and Shuichi tried to help Ouma clean the dishes since there were quite a few of them. Suddenly Ouma hissed in pain. Shuichi's face quickly filled with worry.

"Are you okay?" he asked concerned but Ouma just nodded. "Yeah, it's just my back. Lately, I keep getting back aches but it's nothing to worry your little head over" he said with a smile. Shuichi looked at him concern in his olive eyes before it disappeared instead replaced by a gentle smile. Ouma's eyes then sparked up with joy. "Shuichi look! The stars!" he said with excitement as he ran past him and went outside on the balcony. Shuichi found himself following his Panta-obsessed lover and went outside standing next to his boyfriend. They looked outside at the glimmering stars. The stars reminded him of Ouma's eyes whenever he was excited. Conclusion? The view was wonderful no doubt about it. He then noticed a shooting star.

"Hey, Ouma?" Saihara said staring at the stars in amazement. Ouma only hummed in response. "Do you think shooting stars can grant wishes?" he asked.  Ouma's face turned into a one of gloom. There was a moment of silence between them before Ouma sighed deeply. "No, no I don't...because then your wish would come true." he said looking at Shuichi. Shuichi looked at his beloved puzzled "My wish...?"

"The wish I was still here alive with you..."

Shuichi's face turned to shock. "W-What do you mean!?" he spoke surprised only receive a bitter laugh. "Saihara, stop dreaming of what could've been and live on, don't lose track of reality because what we had ended prematurely...Forget about me and move on..." he said. It was only then Shuichi saw Ouma's crystal tears under the light of the moon.

"It's n-not gonna be... e-easy...f-for both of u-us...but you have to let me go." Ouma sniffled and started crying. Tears began to fall from Shuichi's eyes. He hugged onto Ouma tightly. "N-No...I c-could never do that to you! I could never let you go!" he said but Ouma pulled away. "I'm sorry Saihara but you're clinging to the memories of me and deep down you know that... Get over the fact I died back there on the roof...when that boy pushed me over the railing on accident" he said. Shuichi looked at the ground still sobbing before looking back at Ouma nodding.

"A-And d-don't disappoint me...o-okay...? Don't l-let m-my memory consume you...a-alright?" Ouma said crying even more. The sight of his beloved crying broke Saihara's heart. "G-Goodbye...my dear Saihara-chan..." Ouma whispered as the entire universe started to collapse around them the ground underneath Ouma cracking causing him to fall.

Just like back then on the roof...

"OUMA!" Shuichi screamed but it was futile. The world along with Ouma slowly dissolved around him, collapsing into a void of darkness until,

He woke up.

And with that, the dream he wished was reality ended.

(Short cuz I'm sick and can't think straight.)
