(Ouma x Saihara) Despair Disease

(Not proofread Also I started a pregame fanfic where pg!Shuichi is ACTUALLY nice to Ouma so if you want you can check that out if you're interested. Chapter 2 is coming out tomorrow)

It was morning when Monokuma and the Monokubs showed up to announce the new motive.

"Hello, students! I have made a new motive" the bear cheekily laughed, paws up to his mouth. Not everybody was yet in the dining hall so Kokichi wasn't really sure what was the point of announcing the motive. Shuichi, Angie, Tenko, Miu, Maki and Himiko were still gone.

"Hmm~? And what is that Monokuma?" he spoke calmly with childish excitement. Of course, it was a lie. Nobody can get excited about a game you're forced to play "Besides there are a few people missing. Shouldn't you wait for them?" the bear laughed.

"But that's just it, five students are missing because of a disease I spread around the school. It makes people act differently and until a murder happens I won't cure them. Have fun!" the bear disappeared as fast as

Kokichi and the others looked at each other.

"I think It'd be best to check up on them and see if they don't need supervision from us" Kirumi spoke up. Everyone nodded and decided to head for the dorm area and as soon as they got there...

They saw chaos ensue.

"THE GODS ARE OUT TO G-GET ME! They're gonna rip my skin off, burn me alive and leave me to rot..." Angie was crying in the corner, rocking back and forth.

"STOP IT! Magic isn't real!" Himiko spoke in a cold serious voice, uncharacteristic for her.

"Do you wanna die Tenko?" Maki threatened. I guess she's still the same, Tenko on the other hand...

"If anyone should die, it's all of you. You pretty girls all piss me off!" she yelled at Maki with a demented grin.

"No death threats! That is inappropriate language!" Miu yelled out, trying to pull Tenko off Maki.

Meanwhile, Shuichi seemed to just lean against the wall which quickly caught Kokichi's attention. Shouldn't he be trying to help...?

"What's going on here?" Kaito asked as he stared at the students ran around in a panicked frenzy. "Could it be the motive? That Despair Disease?" he asked.

"Maybe." Maki said coming over to Tenko touching her forehead while Tenko tried her best to fight her. "Her forehead is hot as if she had a fever so it could be Monokuma's motive." she added.

"What do you think Shuichi?" Kaito said looking over at Shuichi but Shuichi seemed to be concentrated on something else. Kokichi quickly realized Shuichi was staring at him, blushing. Judging by how Maki was doing okay and the other four people were sick, that meant Shuichi was sick as well.

"OOOOh! I think Shuichi's finally grown a brain due to the despair disease and started ignoring Kaito~!" he giggled but immediately stopped when he felt Shuichi wrap his arms around him and bury his face in his hair.

"Uhh, Saihara-chan what are you-!" Kokichi said blushing but was cut off by Shuichi's voice.

"You're so cute..." he started. Kokichi swore he choked on air for a second. His tone was so...confident. It was nothing like the timid detective he's seen yesterday.

"S-Shuichi! What are you doing latched onto that brat?!" Kaito yelled out trying to pull Shuichi away. Shuichi glared at him sending shivers down Kaito's spine.

"I'm not in the mood to spend time with you Kaito. I wanna spend time with Kichi~" he said causing Kokichi's blush to only increase. The person he's had a crush on is holding onto him, had called him cute, and told his worst enemy to back off with such confidence. Kirumi coughed catching everyone's attention.
