Ouma sighed as he sat on the bench in the school hallway. He looked at the ground frustrated. After a few minutes, he noticed that Amami had approached him. "Hey Ouma, what's up with you and Shuichi?" he asked curiously. Ouma's eyes widened. "How did you-!" Ouma asked but Rantaro interrupted him. "It's been five minutes and you still haven't clung to Shuichi's shoulder. Something's very wrong" Rantaro said. Ouma sighed and shook his head.
"The anniversary of when we got together is tomorrow and I don't know what to get him!" he said tugging at a strand of his hair. "Ouma this is Shuichi we're talking about. You know that book tokens and detective novel would be enough to make him happy right?" Rantaro said. Shuichi was always quite humble when it comes to what he wanted. It was really easy to make him smile. "But it needs to be PERFECT! It's our first anniversary too...I want it to be special" Ouma said tiredly. "Well... I'm sure you'll think of something. And I get the feeling Shuichi will appreciate it no matter what it is" Rantaro said trying to sound positive. "Okay..." Kokichi said uninterested. Rantaro smiled
RING!
"Well, time for class! Let's go." Rantaro said as he headed for the classroom with Ouma following. They both sat down and Yukizome started to explain the topic. But Kokichi couldn't help but think about what could make this anniversary great. Get him a book? Nah too simple...maybe go see a movie? No that's any normal date, he needs something better...
.
.
.
"KOKICHI!"
"Huh?!" Kokichi looked around when he realized the classroom was empty. "Class is over." Rantaro said as Ouma looked over at him. Oh...so he spaced out thinking about it. Rantaro quickly caught on. "Kokichi stop thinking about it. You're stressing yourself out way more then you should." Rantaro said as they walked out the classroom. "Y-Yeah...alright" Ouma said stopping. It's not a big deal...It's just an anniversary that's all! He thought for a moment.
...
"...BUT IT IS A BIG DEAL RANTARO!" Ouma whined. Rantaro hummed thinking. "How about you buy him something expensive? Like some limited merch of his favorite show?" Rantaro proposed. "Yeah I don't know if you noticed but Shuichi isn't your anime girlfriend." Ouma said pointing at Tsumugi who had coincidentally decided to wear an anime shirt to school that day. "Well, maybe you can take him out to eat and see something!" Rantaro suggested. "Yeah, but see what?" Ouma asked annoyed. Rantaro shrugged. "I dunno, I heard Miu took Kaede to see Heathers at their anniversary..." he said quietly. "But Shuichi already saw Heathers..." Ouma said as he looked at the ground. Rantaro groaned. "Look Ouma I'm getting annoyed watching you whine like this." he said irritated.
"I can't! I'm in even more of a dilemma than when Veronica is with JD!" Ouma complained. "Yeesh, you sound like a drama queen. I'm out." Rantaro said before walking away. Ouma sighed. The rest of the day went casually with him staring at Shuichi in class trying to come up with an idea before being snapped out of his trance and then leaving to go home. At home, he proceeded to do the same. Think about his emo boyfriend and what would make him smile. And at midnight, he still found himself unable to think about anything besides that so he did the only thing he thought was right.
"Ran-chan?" Ouma asked as he called his avocado friend for advice. "Yes, you insufferable grape?" his friend responded with a tone suggesting he was gritting his teeth from anger. And I guess he had the right to, it was 5 AM after all. "I don't know what to do for Shuichi..." Ouma whined into his phone. He heard an exhausted sigh before Rantaro finally answered. "You realize this is the fifth time you called right?" he said annoyed. Oh yeah, he had called him a few times prior. I guess Shuichi made him forget about that. Shuichi... what will make you scream at me with joy?
"Ran-chan what should I do?" Ouma asked as he hugged the pillow tight to his chest. "Stop calling me Ran-chan?" he said irritated as Ouma shook his head. "No, I meant regarding Shuichi" Ouma said. "Jeez give him flowers! Or maybe something he really loves! Google something and just leave me alone!" he yelled before hanging up. Kokichi thought to himself. Flowers huh...I guess that's something he can do but he needs something else. Something so big It'll make him gasp. He unlocked his phone and went on the internet. Almost immediately he was attacked by an ad. And ad of something that might just solve all his problems
The next day...
It was Saturday and Shuichi was hanging out with Kaede at his home. "Hey, so what are you going to get Kokichi for the anniversary," Kaede asked as they watched Netflix. Shuichi hummed. "I got him a locket shaped like a rose, chocolates and a giant fluffy plushie. But I don't know what to expect from Ouma. He likes to make everything a big deal..." Shuichi said with a sigh. "I get feeling, sometimes partners can be very overwhelming. Miu really takes every occasion to the fullest..." she groaned. "I just hope he likes it..." Shuichi sighed. Kaede smiled but then her expression changed into a confused one.
"Hey... do you also hear music?" Kaede asked. Shuichi listened in. True, there was music playing but it was what song that really mattered because Shuichi had heard this song before. It was as clear to him as day. "That's...my favorite" he muttered as he looked out the window to find the source of the sound. And he did.
Oh.
my.
god.
Outside in front of his house stood Ouma holding a boombox with his car parked next to him, the back seat filled with roses. Shuichi gasped and went downstairs and outside. "Ouma...? What are you doing?" Shuichi asked with a chuckle. "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY SHUICHI!" Ouma blushed as he spoke. Shuichi couldn't help but grin. "I-I don't know what to say" Shuichi said as tears welled up in his eyes. "Well how about you and I go to see..." Kokichi giggled mischieviously as he pulled out something from his pocket "Hamilton tonight?" he said with a grin. "Oh my god, how did you even get these? Last time I checked they were all sold out!" Shuichi said with a small laugh. Ouma chuckled and shrugged. "I maaay have pulled a few strings." Ouma said with his sinister giggle. Shuichi's smile just widened. "This gift makes my look terrible." he said awkwardly. "Your company is probably the best gift I'll ever get." Ouma said with a blush. "I love you Ouma" Shuichi said before kissing Ouma. When they pulled away, Ouma grinned at him. "I love you too Shuichi" Ouma said happily. "Kaede do you mind if I-?" Kaede quickly interrupted. "Oh yes! I'll leave. Have fun you cute lovebirds!" Kaede said quickly running off.
"Now then beloved? Wanna go?"
"Yes! Of course!"
(Lol honestly I wouldn't mind having an anniversary like this XD)
