(So this is an alternate more angsty end to the kitsune oneshot. Sorry it's a late upload I was drawing and forgot about writing)

Now I don't want people to attack me so I'm saying rn I don't know how a fox let alone a normal wedding is done so if there are some inaccuracies sorry.)

"Hey, Ouma-kun?"

The nine-tailed fox glanced in Shuichi's direction as the other read a book. "What is it beloved? You read a horror book and it scared you? Wouldn't be surprised." he teased, peering over Shuichi. His book was open at one page Kokichi immediately recognized.

'The Fox Wedding'

"There's something called a fox wedding?" he asked. Ouma blushed and nodded.

"Shirogane and Amami did it before I met you. It's true if you see a sunshower somewhere it's a sign that a fox wedding is happening. Why are you asking?" he asked his tail wagging as he smiled. He had only one tail out since keeping up a human form and nine tails at all times was fairly difficult.

Shuichi blushed, turning away. "N-No reason..." he muttered.

Ouma giggled. "Aww, Shushu is so cute when he's blushing" the fox teased poking the other's cheek. Shuichi couldn't help but hide his rosy face from the fox unable to look him in the eye.

"I-I'm gonna go for a walk" he said standing up and walking outside. Kokichi laughed at the boy's embarrassment.

"Okay, okay I'll stop. Can I come with?" he asked looking up at Shuichi as he stood in the doorway. The boy shook his head.

"Can you stay tonight? I also have some business to attend to in the village. I promise I'll be here soon." he said putting on a blue cloak. He usually went to the village in a cloak because he was scared someone might recognize him in case his parents were indeed looking for him. They weren't exactly sure but... better safe than sorry right?

"Oh...alright. I'll go spend some time with Angie and Ran-chan. I haven't seen them in a while." the fox said, still saddened he couldn't go with his lover. Going to a highly populated village was like a suicide at least in the day time when the guards were alert.

Shuichi nodded and walked out to town whilst Kokichi turned into his fox form and ran to find his friends and cause some harmless mischief around the woods.

After a few hours spent on using his powers to confuse and trick whatever lonely person found themselves lost in the neighboring woods with Rantaro, the fox returned back to his shrine. He changed back to his more human form opening the door.

Shuichi sat there smiling, once again reading the same book about yokai he was previously. Kokichi didn't complain. Stories of kitsune's tricks on humans were interesting to many humans so it was no wonder. There was dinner on their small table, Inarizushi along with some nice tea.

"You're back from the village. What'cha been up to beloved?" Kokichi asked, wagging his tails excitedly. He liked hearing about his partner's life whenever he was away. Just like the human found interest in kitsune, he had a fascination with humans.

"Oh, I went to the store and bought ingredients to make Inarizushi. Your favorite." he said. Ouma smiled widely.

"You've piqued my interest...What's the occasion?" he tilted his head to the side staring at Shuichi intrigued.

"You'll find out after dinner" Shuichi said still wearing that reserved grin. Kokichi's tail wagged once more. This is certainly interesting. It's rare for Shuichi to be the one surprise him.
