"AND THEN SHE SAID I'M UNWORTHY, JEEZ SHE A CONTROL FREAK!"
Kyda was lashing out as she paced back and forwards inside Dr Adil's office. As he flipped through pages of books in an exhausted manner to find answers to bring Kyda home. "I have no clue, how things work here, but she the Empress and if she's able to convince the Emperor and she very convincing, she could have you executed".
Kyda was frustrated with the whole situation, but she knew she was powerless, and she just sat across from him as if she was surrendering. "I don't know why this has a big impact on me. I mean it's not like I'm gonna be here for long" she picked up a round succulent grape from the bowl from the middle of the table. She threw it up in the air and caught it with her mouth. By the time she tilted her head down to face the doctor he stared at her amazement "What?" Kyda noticed his stare.
"How did you do that?"
"Did what?"
"The grape trick"
Kyda burst out laughing "I just caught it in my mouth, nothing else". Amita soon came in with a tray with 3 cups of chai (tea). The elderly man smiled "Ah~ I needed that".
The scent resembled to warm vanilla and cinnamon with an underlying tone of something citrus...
Lemons?
No, no, it's orange. Accompanied with cardamom.
The scent danced around Kyda nose as it lured her to the tray "I wish that was a yankee candle". Amita faced the Dr in curiosity, what was a yankee candle. The Dr rolled his eyes at Kyda and faced Amita to give her a slight nod of a no to not even bother asking.
Kyda sipped her chai and of course it was piping hot, she hissed as she placed the cup onto the desk as her tastebud was low-key being burnt alive. Unlike the Dr, he drunk his chai without any trouble and so did Amita.
Kyda leans her elbow on the desk "Dr Adil how long have you been a Dr?" He glanced at her while still sipping his chai "53 years" he like it was nothing. Kyda and Amita gape at him "Are you planning to retire soon?". Kyda placed another grape in her mouth hoping the juice would cool her tongue. The wise man placed his teacup back on the tray "Retire?... why are you asking this?" Kyda glanced at Amita while she kept herself occupied with her teacup. Kyda face slowly rotated back to the Dr and met his gaze filled with suspicion "Should you have a mentee for... just in case?".
The Dr scoffed "Many scholars came far and wide for me to be their mentor, they were just incapable". Kyda nodded to his statement, and she decided to make the move.
"How about Amita?"
The Dr froze midway as his arm was extending to grab his chai again. Whereas Amita used both of her hands to hold her teacup to prevent the liquid from spilling from her semi shaking hand.
"As a wet nurse?" The Dr attempted to correct her.
Kyda ogled at him as if he made it up "Wet nurse? don't you mean midwife? ... no not as a wet nurse, I mean as a Dr like you". Dr Adil glanced at Amita then back at her "She a woman" Kyda nodded at the true statement "Yes, well spotted, you wise one... so when does she start?".

"I can't believe he said yes"
Amita squealed with joy as they walked down the marble hallway with symmetrical square patterns with large carved archway and white unstained pillars holding up the floral painted ceiling.
"Are you sure you want him to be your mentor?" Kyda joked "Of course he's the best in the nation" Amita eyes sparkled. "No wonder why he's so cranky, he's got the pressure" she said under her breath.
A large group of females were leaning over the balcony as their titter were heard from them, while they were idolising something down below.
"What's happening now?" Kyda noticed them fangirling "I'm not too sure myself" Amita titled her head to the side like a cute clueless puppy. "Then let's find out" she grabbed Amita hand and trotted down the hallway, but they were unable to see over them and there was no chance of these ladies moving. Amita tapped Kyda gently and nodded towards the left to follow her lead and they did. Kyda rushed behide her as they took her to the free balcony on the other side. Kyda leans over the stone railings "I don't get it, what's happening?" then loud mental clattering together with force was heard.
"WHY ARE THEY FIGHTING? SOMEONE STOP THEM!"
Kyda panicked after witnessing Owais and Saif having a duel.
With real sharp swords that can perform a clean cut for beheading.
Amita covered her mouth "Don't worry, they aren't fighting to the death" Kyda faced her as she gently removed her hand from her mouth "But the swords are real, someone could get hurt". Amita nodded in agreement as she watched the two Prince "But that's how they learn... when fighting on the battlefield there would be no mercy".
Kyda noticed Amita mood became serious.
This life isn't always about the food and gold.
On the ground level in the courtyard was the Emperor and his nobleman standing underneath the shelter, forming a square.
They stood there with straight faces as if they were assessing an exam.
They were.
Kyda watched closely and stayed silent since this is the first time, she ever witnessing a duel. Saif and Owais were both obviously highly trained with these swords. Be that as it may, Saif did seem to be a bit all over the place. Whereas Owais was fast, agile and assessed the whole situation. The young Prince glanced up at the crowd of girls and his eyes panned to the left to spot the special guest, Kyda. He couldn't help but to grin.
Now he had to put on a show.
Saif was laughing the whole time while vocalising cheeky remarks to tease his brother, which is effectively making him exasperated.
Owais was letting his anger get the best of them. Saif may not have the same technique as his brother, but he knows his enemy well including his weakness. Owais was swinging his weapon out of pure fury since his words were getting into his head. And he almost caught Saif as he swung his sword vertically towards his neck. Saif still had a smile plastered on his face as he leans back almost as he was doing a limbo. Due to the force that Owais put into his swing, it made him lost his balance, weakening his stance. Saif saw his golden opportunity and did a leg sweep onto his leg that had the most weight. Resulting, Owais to fall to the ground and accidentally cut himself with the sword on the arm.
For those who hasn't stood up, has now stood up in complete shock.
The young Prince has outsmarted the heir to the throne.
Amita gasped as she saw him fall to the ground.
Whereas Kyda stood up for a better look.
Saif pointed the sword down to his neck as he was still on the ground, in spite of that, he wasn't going to go any further than that.
He pulled the swords away and placed out a friendly hand to help him up. Yet, his brother viewed this as a sign of pity.
Owais slapped his hand away
"GET AWAY FROM ME!"
He was enraged, he was already embarrassed enough being beaten by someone who was deemed to be inferior and inexperienced.
He didn't need his hand outs.
Kyda watched Owais closely.
"He has to be that ruthless Emperor, mum and Priscilla been talking about"
