Kyda and the Dr, the...

The?...

Unusual duo?

Yeah, that seems to fit well into this scenario.

The unusual duo walked down the hallway trying to act as ordinary as possible. "Do you think the Princess will be fine?" the old man whispered to her. Kyda smiled beamingly as a random maid walked past them. She looked around her surroundings to make sure there's no one at hearing distance "I mean yeah why wouldn't she be?".

"You shoved her in my closet" The old man bluntly said.

Kyda nodded slightly as she kept quiet for a moment "I mean... She is a heavy sleeper, so I doubt her being in a closet what disturb her sleep". "Ok but what now?" Dr Adil was already strained by everything that this uninvited guest has put him through so far.

"Right now, I need to go find and be with Amita... you can go and do whatever man does during a Wedding but remember do not draw attention to yourself" Kyda cannot stress the last part enough.

The Dr crossed his arms "Be honest with me here... Are you winding this? Do you actually have a plan or are you going with the flow with this?". Kyda laughed awkwardly "Umm do you want me to be honest or do you want to hear what you wanna hear?". She wasn't looking where she was going on accidentally bumped into something solid. She grunts and rubbed the side of her head and looks down as her pain tolerance, acted.

"Sorry I tried to get your attention"

Kyda eyes lit from remembering the sound of their voice.

"Khagan (Prince) our apologies, she wasn't looking" The doctor apologises on her behalf. But all she did was look up and smiled at him.

At Saif

Saif struggled to prevent his lips from curling upwards as their eyes were finally connected "It quite alright" he rubbed his chest since she literally rammed her forehead into his chest.

Kyda cheeks were tinted pink as their eyes never left each other.

There was no need for words.

Kyda heart rate has dramatically increased just by his smile.

The Prince, himself couldn't seem to take his eyes off her.

And the Dr stood there in complete awkwardness between them two with their idyllic tension.

"Khagan (Prince) aren't you supposed to prepare yourself for the wedding?" the Dr was trying to get himself out of this awkward situation. "Well yes but I-" before the royal Prince could finish off his sentence the desperate and paranoid Dr forced himself into Kyda and Saif conversation "Me and the special guest will have to complete a few tasks before the beginning of the ceremony, however, we will see you there" And without sparing another second the more he dragged Kyda away.

"Hey what's your deal?" Kyda spoke in a exasperate manner. "Have you forgotten already?... Amita" Kyda eyes widen "Oh Yea... remember act casual I'll deal with the rest" she notified the old man before running off to the bridal chambers.

Amita was sitting on the velvet lounge chair with her face covered with a red, jewel embroidered veil. 4 royal servants were delegated to Princess Rayha. They were completing her mehndi (henna) on each hand and feet, each.

Amita stayed silent.

She feared if she even muffled a single word, she would be instantly recognised by her fellow "colleagues". "Begum, (Muslim woman of high rank) are you excited? So many people have come across the land to witness your matrimony with Khagan (Prince)" one of the servants spoke with a peppy tone. Amita hands began to tremble and produce moisture after hearing what the servant had quoted.

Her throat was dry like the Thar Desert.

She felt her windpipes were closing in and was attempting to suffocate herself so she wouldn't have to experience of being tortured when she gets caught. "Awww she nervous" another servant teased after noticing her hands shaking as she was completing her floral mehndi (henna). "Please hold still, Begum, (Muslim woman of high rank). I need to complete writing your, soon-to-be husband name".

The royal servants giggled and awed at the future Empress ...

The imposter

But all laughter and smiles vanished as soon as the current Empress entered with a straight face.

The maids stood up to face their leader and hung their heads low.

Without a sparing another thought, Amita stood up and hung her head low like a mere commoner.

Her actions resulted, her majesties to raise an eyebrow.

"Rayha?... why are you behaving out of character?"

Beads of sweat ran down the side of Amita face.

Her heartbeat was audible and could possibly burst.

Why did she allow Kyda to convince her into this?

"She's just nervous"

The source of the voice came from behind the Empress.

The Empress rotated her body to face...

"Kyda... I didn't realise you were also coming to the wedding" she spoke in a cold tone.

"Well, I can't leave the palace and this place is holding the most anticipated exclusive event ... where else would you expect me to be?" Kyda rolled out the facts. Her majesty gracefully and slowly strides towards her, as the heat of tension began to increase in the room.

However, Kyda stood tall, but to contradict herself, the Queen had the height advantage. "To stay out of my face and that includes my sons" her tone was like icicles, being shot through her body like ammunition. Kyda had never heard a tone like that from her and by judging on the Royal servants' facial expressions of horror, behind her, they haven't either.

But despite that, Kyda did not want to appear feeble in front of anyone.

She was too proud.

Like her mother.

It's a useful characteristic but it could also dig herself a hole, she may never get out.

"That's not very ladylike for you"

Kyda did not think before she speaks.

A common trait for her.

She bit her tongue after the wave of instant regret crashed onto her, but she held her proud image.

But received a sinister scowl from her majesty.

And leans forward, casting her shadow over Kyda.

"You know nothing about ladyship... Little girls like you, should be grateful that you're breathing the same air with me and Rayha".

Kyda cuts circulation to her fingers resulting her hands to go pale white. But she had no words for her. Silence and hostility congested the room. And the Empress left corner of her mouth raised slightly as a sign of victory.

She faced back at the Royal servants and nodded towards the door to them.

Without a word being said the service understood what she had commanded them to do.

Her Majesty left the room and the servants followed with the head still hanging low.

Leaving Kyda in defeat.
