Kyda stayed up almost all night researching the strange event that had occurred in her life.

She laid on her front on the bed as she was on her laptop, searching time traveling cabinet.

With no surprise, the search didn't produce much and if it did, it wasn't useful.

She then typed in magical cabinet as she remembered the story of the old man with black magic and how any can appear if needed.

Wait

Is she back home because they don't need her anymore?

Because she fixed Amita and Owais together?

Were the stars aligned like Dr Adil had theorised?

Could he be wrong?

Seriously? Can the old man actually be wrong for the first time?

She leans back and exhaled, why is she even trying to go back? She doesn't belong there. But she was happy there, but her own family gives her joy and love too "I guess I did what I had to".

She did her duty.

There is no need for her to go back.

She stared at her screen as her hands glided over her keyboard, allowing it to take control.

Saif Akbar

She clicked on the search engine.

The first image that came up was the same painted portrait she saw of him in the hallway.

She zooms in.

And stared at the image intently without her eyes leaving the screen.

Not realising time flew by and it was 4 in the morning.

It was like a chunk of her soul had been ripped out of her and she feels incomplete.

She felt empty and heartbroken.

She missed him

She didn't mean to leave him.

He must be thinking she dead.

"I'm right here, Saif"

She mumbled to herself as she gazed at the online portrait of him.

"Have you been on your laptop all night?"

Her mother was clearly agitated with the matter "Your always some screen... no wonder you're slipping in your course, do you know Auntie Nadia daughter is doing medicine and she an honour student?".

Kyda and her Nana (grandma) were immune to her nonsense tactic to downgrade and belittle Kyda.

"And do you know your cousin, Ahmed bought his mother a house" her mother ranted on "And here you are, always on your screens and nothing else".

Kyda completed her Nana, homemade breakfast Dahi vada and Rusk chai till her Nana placed a fresh Poori onto her plate for her to eat.

Even though Kyda wasn't back at the palace, her grandmother food made felt like royalty. With all the spices, aroma and texture her food delivers was just lavish and nothing less.

"All you do is be on the screen and eat all the food" her desi mother complained.

"bakwas band karo" (translation: shut up) Kyda grandmother liked to eat her breakfast in peace but rarely experience such tranquil.

Kyda finished the extra Poori that was given to her.

She didn't pay attention to what was happening around her surroundings. Her mindset was using all its power to figure out the puzzle to how she got from a middle of a dessert to back in the museum.

And if it was possible for her to go back?

Did they really not need her anymore and sent her back?

Did she really save the empire from the region of terror?

"Did you damage the Mughal wardrobe artefact?" Her mother scowled at her from across the table. Kyda was snapped out of her own reality and looked up to face her "It's a medicine cabinet" Kyda responded as she took a sip from her rubicon mango juice.

"I think I would have known if it was a medicine cabinet" Dr Mahmood scoffed at Kyda little remark.

However, Dr Mahmood daughter gulled down a whole glass of mango juice before saying "The medicine cabinet belongs to a royal doctor and advisor named Dr Adil. He was known to be one of the oldest advisor in the royal court and was made appointed to be the main and final doctor of late Emperor Akbar the third. He also had a reputation to be one of the wisest men to have ever lived".

It seemed like her mother was tranquilized by her sudden out burt of knowledge. Her Nana stared at the two of them before asking Dr Mahmood "Es nay kia kaha?" (translation: what did she say?).

Kyda struggled to hide her smug smile knowing she had gained some sort of victory over her mother.

"Looks like someone studied" her mother was still caught off guard by the sudden mass information that her own daughter blurted out.

The same daughter who didn't have a clue what the term 'Mughal' is or was.

However,...

"You forgot one little thing" Dr Mahmood added as she sips her pink Kashmir chai (tea) "He was the reason why there was a first female doctor in the Empire".

Kyda begs to differ, "More like I did" she said under her breath till she realised.

Did she seriously change history?

Kyda snaps herself as she processed what her mother just said "Really?" she asked as she leans forward in curiosity making her mother befuddled, how come she had taken a sudden interest in the Mughal Dynasty, her mother thought to herself.

Of course, didn't want to ruin the moment, who knows when this will happen again.

"Yes, and the first female doctor was a Empress as well, Amita Akbar the first. She was a great example to other women in the Empire and even established a place that all women can be educated" her mother continued, she couldn't help but to have some joy in the fact that Kyda has finally taken interest in her work.

"How Amita became Empress was quite crazy, her and some her associates swapped her around with the Begum (Princess), who was supposed to marry Owais, to display her affection towards him. I think the Begum (Princess) name was Rayha. But Amita had a huge impact on not just the Empire but in history, for the better" Her mother ended.

Kyda leans back in her chair as she began to reflect.

Did she did something good?

She did help the Kingdom in the long run.

But it wasn't Owais who needed her.

Was it Amita that needed her?
