Kyda informed Dr Adil and Amita to meet her somewhere secure and safe, for them to chat freely from the fear of allegation. The Dr stated that the palace has eyes and ears almost all over the place for the Emperor and Empress. Therefore, leading up to the idea to meet up in a secret location.
The stables
All of the Emperor followers are too concerned about their king's health and are too busy dwelling over him to even bother with others. He seems to be strike with a sudden, yet unknown illness, meaning more work for Dr Adil. The Empress hates the stink of the stable, her fancy entourage would not dare to enter with the risk of its oders following them.
It would definitely infuriate, her Majesty.
Kyda just about learnt her way around the palace. Since she has become more accustomed to almost everything.
The odour of decomposition of manure smacks in her face as soon as she entered into the stables.
The floor was covered in animal hair like she expected and there were many horses well-groomed and fed in their own oak compartments.
She can just about differentiate the horses, the ones who seemed to mind their own business and gave off a snobby vibe also doesn't have a spec of dirt on their body where show horses that the royals when used to parade around. Whereas the other horses behaved a bit more agitated and more aggressive, they had battle scars signifying they were warhorses.
Kyda spotted a black stallion with a scar down his eye. It didn't behave aggressively, on the other hand, he did give off an intimidating aura. Kyda did always wonder if horses, like the stallion, could suffer from war trauma like a human being. The number of wars they have been through and they are unable to express their agony.
"He is a very strong horse"
Kyda quickly turned around expecting to be alone, however, there was no threat it was just a young boy, a stable worker. Allowing her to drop her guard and face back to the stallion "Does it have a name?".
The young lad opens the small gate allowing himself into the horse's compartment.
He was one brave child.
Nevertheless, the stallion didn't seem to be bother by him as he entered into their sanctuary "His name is Shahzor". The boy placed a bucket filled with the mixture of grains and apples slices in front of the stallion and it began to eat it "It's the Khagan (prince) Saif's Horse".
Kyda admired the horse from afar, it may seem intimidating, but it was gentle on the eyes.
Like his...
"Does his name have a meaning?" Kyda slowly and cautiously enters its compartment. The boy looked up noticing that she is entering a quickly held her hand without any faulters "Follow my lead, so it doesn't see you as an enemy".
Kyda nodded to the young boy as he was leading her closer, but yet steadily towards Shahzor. "His name means 'Extreme power'" the boy stated in a quiet tone and slowly guided her hand onto the horses head and began to stroke it gently "That name seems to suit him" Kyda concluded.
The young chap smiled "I agree, this horse will carry our Khagan (prince) back home safely after he becomes victorious in the battle".
Kyda's movement came to a halt from stroking the horse.
But she did not respond.
"I need to go feed the other horses but feel free to spend time with this one. He is usually lonely and doesn't like to be around with the other horses. And try not to get caught, you're not supposed to be in here" he said as he began to walk away with multiple of buckets full of the same mixture that the stallion received.
