Kyda was running around like a headless chicken looking for the Khagan.
Why so soon?
His brother just got married
His father just died
Can't war wait?
Kyda was obviously not cultured or knowledgeable to know how the conflict of two Empires works.
But why him?
Kyda leans over the balcony to catch her breath as she gained an eagle eye view from down below, of the palace courtyard.
But she didn't find what she was looking for.
"Where is he?"
She asked herself.
"Who?"
Kyda slightly jolted by the sudden unidentified voice.
But turn to face to...
"Nobody, Rayha"
Kyda responded bluntly and began to walk away before the Begum (Princess) grasped onto her wrist. "You might as well, tell me... after all the trouble you put me through" Rayha retorted.
Kyda vigorously snatched her arm away "I was almost choked to death, so I think we're even". Kyda turned her back to imperial nightmare and began to walk away. However, the royal Begum (Princess) retorted "You're acting like you don't deserve it". Her comment resulted Kyda to delay her pace. "Don't you understand? You ruined everything... you ruined Owais life since he now haves to face the ridicule of marrying a commoner" the Princess spoke but Kyda just continue to walk as she trailed along like a dark shadow, containing all of Kyda bad deeds.
"Not to mention how the royal bloodline will now tarnished by a commoner.
What filth.
Oh, how our future people will look back on us in history to see a mere commoner who slithered into the castle and brought shame and embarrassment". Kyda scoffed but continued to walk "You know this wasn't all her doing right? ... She more of a decent person then you could ever be. And that's what everyone wants in a leader".
"And that poor girl... what's her name again? Amita? ... you ruined her life too. She doesn't know the first thing of being royal, nevertheless an Empress. Do you think everyone will take a liking to her compared to me?"
Kyda eyes begun to produce a light burning sensation but kept walking onwards as the Begum (Princess) prattled.
"I was trained to become an Empress since I was a child. While that poor handmaiden doesn't even know the required table manners, the royal court going to tear her apart". The Princess made haste with her strides and stood in front of Kyda, preventing her to go any further "Decency isn't the only thing you need to be a ruler".
"I think we heard enough from you, Rayha"
a voice invited themselves into the conversation.
The two girls faced the source of those words.
Kyda stinging eyes unleashed a drop of her tear as she witnessed Saif.
"Rayha you should rest since you had a long day" Saif placed on his neutral tone. Not wanting to display his choice of sides.
Rayha glanced at him before facing Kyda.
"You're lucky that my fiancé, is soft hearted... unlike me" she spoke darkly to Kyda before shoving her shoulder into hers as she disappeared around the corner.
Fiancé?
Kyda looked up to see Saif was a mess himself.
Watching him run his fingers through his black slightly long soft waved hair.
"You're getting married?"
Kyda trying to filter out the pain from her tone.
Saif looked out of the balcony as he lets out a sigh, choosing his words wisely.
"Why her?" Kyda was building up some form of anxiety, grief, and fury.
Combining 3 dangerous emotions that allows her body to be overwhelmed. Saif faced her but there was no trace of annoyance but exhausting, as if he was fighting his own war for a while. "What do you expect, Kyda? Rayha came all this way her to marry a member of the Akbar royal family. If it wasn't going to be my brother, then it would be me" he explained as his back was leaned against the balcony rails.
"And I'm leaving on the 3rd sunrise"
Kyda stood there as if she was a statue.
How could she help someone, just for someone else to suffer in their place?
"There not really much of a choice here, Kyda" Saif interrupted her trail of thoughts.
Kyda went up to him while holding one of his hands with both of hers.
Her eyes filled with guilt, she was responsible for all of this and only herself.
She had good intentions.
But the one she is heavily fond and affectionate towards, would now have to suffer.
"Just give me time, I can come up with something and we can both be happy. I just need time to make the plan that's fool proof so no one can get hurt"
Saif lovingly gazed at her as she panics blabbers.
She truly cares for him, and it was the same on his part too.
He placed his free hand on top of both of hers and smiled gently.
"Let's go somewhere private, My Alula"
