"WHO ARE YOU?!" the Empress bellowed.
Amita stayed on her knees to the ground, hoping to be camouflage herself in the sea of people...
It didn't work. Unfortunately for her, she was wearing a bridal gown, of course she stood out. Kyda stiffens up as the Empress words echoed into her ears, while still in Saif embrace. He noticed her body tensed up and looked down knowing something wrong "Kyda?". Kyda was shaking like a leaf, her hands unconsciously clenched onto Saif's top half of his shalwar. She can't find a way to get out of this situation, her mind was blank. She was allowing her emotion to get the best if herself.
She can't think straight.
"Kyda what's wrong?" Saif strokes the back of her hair hoping that would do the trick to calm her nerves. Kyda was trapped, she didn't mean to trapped herself and worse of all Amita and Dr Adil was pulled into the straining issue. The continuous shouting from the Empress was ringing into her ears.
She mustered the courage to look up at Saif with tearful eyes "I messed up big time, Saif" she spoke in a shaky and soft tone. Saif gulped as he witnessed her eyes was glossy, his mouth began dry like the dunes as his became numb and slightly moist. Kyda was in a vulnerable state and was in a dire need for a genial and affectionate comfort. He gently grazed his thumb over her heated red cheeks "What can I do to make things better for you?" he whispered tenderly. With her hands still gripping his shalwar, she pulled him as she went on her tiptoes and leans into his ear...
"Save Amita"
Kyda soon freed him from her grasp and surfed through the sea of people. Saif watched her become engulfed by the crowd of people and was confused by her quote "Save Amita?" he repeated her words. The young prince was confused, why would the women he was adored was asking him to save another women life?
And from what?
Amita heard him saying her name and responded by looking at him with her face still covered.
The action from his new sister-in-law was enough to have him understand what was happening "...oh no" he looked around making sure no one heard him. Kyda made her way on top of the table of food made for the high ranks.
All eyes were on her.
She was the distraction...
"I WOULD LIKE TO PERSONALLY CONGRATULATE THE BRIDE AND GROOM!"
As she began to babble as if her life depended on it....
It did
Saif quickly grabbed Amita and the wise old man, who was weaken by the events and slithered through the crowd to vanish into thin air. "WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING!" the Empress was all red in the face as if piping hot lava was behide her skin and her veins throbbed in her neck.
The room fell silent, and all eyes landed back in Kyda "Uhhhh..." she faced Owais with an awkward smile "Congratulations?" he just raised his eyebrows "Is that all that you're going to announced?".
Kyda laughed forcefully "You look great in that shalwar" he kept a straight face.
*cricket sound*
"I'll get down now" Kyda coughed as she came down from the table and was now avoiding the spotlight.

Kyda entered slammed the door of the Dr office closed and locked it. She pressed her back against the door as she was regaining the lack of oxygen that she desperately needed from all that running.
Her legs were becoming like jelly and was giving out. Resulting her to slide down the door.
"KYDA?!"
She looked up to see her beloved Saif rushing over to her and picking her up and spun her around before placing her gently onto the lounge sofa in the office. Amita was also in the room, tending to the now conscious Dr Adil. After the short-lived loving interaction between Kyda and Saif, she still had a pale skin complexion, as if she seen a ghost.
Or to place it on a more accurate scale, a near death experience.
Saif faced Amita with a stern face "What's wrong with her? Why is she in this state?". Amita eyes laid on Kyda before rushing towards her direction and began to assess her pulse and check her temperature along with her breathing patterns "She's in shock from what just happened because, I assume, she had a panic attack". Saif kneels to her height and held both of her hands delicately as if she was a crystal glass, allowing her to know that she is not alone, and he is going to be by her side.
"Kyda... please tell me what's happening here so I can help you" Saif said in a soft tone.
Kyda was first hesitant to tell him. She glances at the two accomplices knowing that once she leaves to go back to her original timeline they will be stuck with her mistakes but she should attempt to lessens their punishment.
"Amita married your brother"
Saif nodded to her words "I figured that out earlier" he joked "I mean how did you do it and why?".
Kyda sighed as she struggled to answer his question, she leans back in the velvet lounge chair trying to place her words in order with barely any energy she had left. "Khagan (Prince) please allow her a moment to recover from the event" the Dr spoke out. The young Prince glanced the elderly man as he noted it as a command from someone of lower statues, but he just gave him a nod of acceptance and placed himself next to Kyda still holding his hand as he waited patiently.
"My Ammi (mum) is a historian, and she is an expert when it comes to the Mughal Empire"
All eyes were on her, this is the first time she was talking about her mother to anyone in this timeline. "There this ruler... who causes years and years of chaos and in a way destroys the whole Empire". Saif stared at him in utter bewilderment "What does this have to do with my Bhai? (Brother)". Kyda kept quiet and peeked at Amita and Dr Adil and they all stayed silent not knowing how to put this scenario into the best of words. Saif began to pace back and forth by the news he had just received.
He was agitated and he had the right to be.
It was his own brother is being called a tyrant. In addition, his brother married the wrong female.
"I swapped brides with Princess Rayha for Amita... he's different when he's around Amita and he is definitely happier and calmer. I think he likes her as much as Amita like- ". Saif interrupted her "He does like her" he gave her a quick glimpse as he was still annoyed by what she done.
But, Amita ears perked up as she heard him.
Saif notice Amita was staring at him with shock and decided to clarify "He told me a while back... even though Owais isn't a big admirer of me that doesn't mean he doesn't confine in me... we are brothers after all" he sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck in annoyance. "Saif I'm so sorry but-" Kyda was interrupted again "You don't have the right to manipulate such a drastic measure, especially when it's not even your life, you're going against what Allah has planned for us" he couldn't believe what she pulled off "What will you do when my mother finds out her son married a handmaiden?... do you think she will let this slide?".
Kyda hated being interrupted. She viewed it as someone who didn't appreciate her words, so why would she appreciate theirs.
How egotistical.
"Kyda are you listening?" Saif huffed as he noticed her diverting her eyes towards the window and not responding. His blood begun to seethe "Kyda, do you realise what you did" he was becoming agitated. Kyda acted as if he didn't exist in her own world that she was in now, daydreaming.
"Kyda"
No reply
"KYDA!" he roared making everyone in the room jump, including Kyda. She stared at him with widen feared eyes as he shot daggers back. Like anyone else, Kyda regretted giving a Prince the silent treatment, but her pride was bigger. She stood up from her seat and delivered an icy glare as she left the room. Saif watched her leave, it wasn't common to have such rage.
It even surprised himself.
As she left
His anger melted away and his rage face soon morphed into a concerned look.
"Kyda, I didn't mean-"he spoke out as he open the exit door to catch up to her but instead revealed...
Owais
"May I speak with Amita?"
