Saif watched the one he's truly fond of, shatter into pieces.

Not understanding her thought process and what she desired.

Adventure?

Affection?

Fun?

...home

He hated to admit to himself, but the one that he admired only desired for her home.

"Kyda, you will get back home" Saif placed himself next to his wilted blossom. "Dr Adil is trying all he can" he slowly slides his hand on the slick handwrought wooden bench surface till the top of his finger grazed against hers. "But I don't want you to leave so soon" he slowly interwind his fingers with hers in a subtle matter. Kyda felt his warm finger linking with hers and she slowly looked up to face him with glossy eyes. Saif gave her a smile hoping that would do the trick.

But it was a struggle.

What could he smile about?

His late father passed away.

He would now have to marry his brother fiancé.

He would also have to go into battle.

And now, his Kyda, was heartbroken, scared and confused.

Due to his height advantage, he was looking down with a tender smile and strokes her cheeks with his thumb to wipe off any tears that could ruin her lightly rouge cheeks.

"I know what would cheer you up"

Kyda was sat at the back of Shahzor as she clings onto the back of Saif red and musted yellow Angarkha. Saif held the reins with one hand as he reached into his brown leather rucksack to retrieve a large flask of water and handed it over to a very dehydrated Kyda, who is on the brink of a mirage. They crossed through the unmarked dessert as the golden sand spread miles away where there no end to meet. "Where are you taking me?" Kyda exhaled in exhaustion as she placed a white cloth over her head to reduce the impact of heat, she was receiving.

Saif continued to ride Shahzor "Don't you like surprises?" he joked.

"Not when it's in the middle of a desert where no one can hear me scream" Kyda rested her head against his back.

Saif couldn't restrain himself, but to smile at the idea.

Kyda noticed

"Are you're going to kill me?

Are you serious right now?"

Saif broke out in pure laughter and smiled with cheeky intentions "You never fail to cheer me up with your nonsense, My Alula".

Kyda sat on the horse contemplating whether to tell him that she wasn't trying to spew out nonsense to him but that was her realistic analysis.

But her thoughts required much of her energy due to the heat, it had a huge impact on her physical and mental vitality. Resulting her to lower her eyelids and to have her head and top half of her body applying pressure onto Saif back.

Leaning against him.

Dozing off into a slumber.

Saif flinched a little but the sudden pressure on his back but managed to glance behide to see his flower unwinding herself.

Kyda eyes fluttered open to be greeted by the bright hot ball in the sky that is known to be the sun.

She squinted to prevent herself to be blinded by the ball of fire in the sky.

She found herself lying down, but it wasn't on sand but on a bright clean sheet. She managed to pry herself up with her elbows to evaluate her new surroundings. Greenery such as long green luscious grass spewing out from the sand along with palm trees, accompanied with coconuts hanging off them like Christmas baubles on a festive tree. Without any hesitation, she made her way underneath the shade produced by the palm tree. As she wiped off the trails of sweat dripping down her forehead, she glanced around her surroundings more from her better angle.

She heard birds squawking.

She looked up to find that she was in all different types of tropical birds that stored themselves in the palm trees.

Their habitats.

House finches, white winged doves, northern mockingbirds and vibrant colours of hummingbirds.

In the centre of this random planted fertile greenery was a large patch or a pond of clear crystal cyan blue. Home to glittering scales of fish is that she has never witnessed before.

All different shapes and sizes.

she has never seen anything.

As if any of this had disappeared from existence before anyone from her timeline could have witness this or to acknowledge its existence once on this earth. Without a second to spare, she dashed over towards the pond and submerged her whole body into the untouched waters, leaving her clothes on, without a care. Her body soon began to regain its liveliness and she felt more energetic as she began to do brushstrokes underwater.

It's been a while since she last swim.

Recalling how she would go straight to the deep end when she was a child and diving in without any sense of fear while other children in her class was stuck to the shallow end, learning the basics of just floating. Soon enough she poked her head up to the surface to regain oxygen into her lungs and floated on her back to enjoy the natural light, she barely received any back in England.

While of course, staying hydrated and cold by the glorified and yet, what we take for granted, water.

"I see that you're enjoying yourself"

Kyda didn't bother to open her eyes she knew who it was.

"Yea, it's been a while since I felt like this"

The man couldn't help but to chuckle "I guess it was worth the 3-day journey"

Saif eyes never left her as he made his way towards the silk sheet on the ground and placing fruit and a fish that he caught earlier from the pond.

He went towards he's loyal companion, Shahzor with coconuts.

Who was left untied and unsaddled.

Shahzor sat himself on the long grass to cool himself.

Saif grabbed a sharp blade from the saddle, next to Shahzor.

And with one strike the coconuts were split clean in half with liquid containing inside them.

He placed one half of the coconuts in front of Shahzor, to drink out as a bowl and the other half himself.

As he leans back on Shahzor as he was memorising by all of Kyda features.

While dwelling how he should tell her he would be gone soon for war.
