Dear X,
When I told Katie about myself she made me feel like I wasn't alone. She told me about herself, Madi, Parker, Jewel, and Ella as well. She doesn't know how much that meant to me.
Katie notices and understands everything, but the reasons why she is this way aren't the greatest. When Katie was younger her step dad did some things to her which not many people know about. This includes her mother. I'll never forget the story of the first time she tore her hips up with a razor, and how she realized that the next day nobody noticed.
I never understood why Madi found herself ugly. She has wonderful facial features and is really skinny, also she's a very talented and funny girl. I just know her mom walked in on her cutting once and started to cry. Still, she has issues with both of her parents which is understandable. The way she describes them you'd never think they're the same people.
Parker, oh Parker. He moved here almost 2 years ago. His old friends treated him like shit, one of them got his mom fired by starting a rumor and brought Parker's whole family shame. I met him at a softball game around May and complimented his Hunger Games shirt. I don't remember what he said, but I know I thought he was cool. He's honestly a sweet guy.
Jewel's story I don't know much of. I just know that she moved here around the same time as Parker and was always really quiet. If you get to know her she's actually an excellent artist, very sarcastic and adorable. Well, I think so at least. Her friend from her old town is like Tate. I think you'd like her, she likes the same type of music as you.
Ella's parents are judgmental assholes, according to her. They're always talking shit about her older siblings, even though she looks up to them. She gets mad at herself for crying because it's for "stupid reasons" and I tried so hard to convince her that they weren't. Once she started crying at lunch and no one knew why, she just ran into the bathroom to let it out.
They all seemed so happy.
