(13) - Visions and Vices

NADiA'S POiNT OF ViEW - ON THE QUiN JET

"Thief." I send the word toward Clint and he doesn't react.

"What has been stolen Lady Nadia?" Thor asks and I look up at him.

"Candy and pizza," I answer with underlying anger in my voice.

Thor nods, "Whoever stole from Lady Nadia, speak up now and I may spare you." I giggle but stop when I see he is completely serious.

"Oh, Thor, it's fine!" I yell and he shakes his head.

"As you wish, but you should never let the thief think it is okay to steal." I nod in understanding as Tony flies out of the ship, what the heck is he doing? Steve and Thor follow after Tony, I run to the front to watch out the window.

"What are you doing? Get out there, kid." Clint laughs and I groan.

"I want payment for the stolen goods old man," I mumble as I grab my bow and slide some more daggers into the slots on my recently upgraded suit.

Tony made the needed adjustments and added more practicality. I slide on my mask and jump from the jet. "I need a ride, guys," Before I know if Thor has grabbed me and sets me down beside him.

"Junior...you're gonna break your old man's heart." Stark makes a sad face, at least I think he did.

"If needed, I will." I notice there's a third kid.

"Who is this new kid?" I ask out loud and her eyes snap to mine, they're a light blue and she has hair similar to the boy's.

"We do not have to break anything," Thor announces and I try to ready myself for anything.

Ultron chuckles, "You have clearly never made an omelet then." Is it possible for a robot to chuckle?

"I don't know, be careful. She may be enhanced." Steve says over the earpiece and beside me. I eye the white glow around her hands.

"She is, of course, I mean why wouldn't she be?" My voice is sarcastic as I ask a rhetorical question.

Tony chuckles too, "Beat me by one second." The boy steps forward.

An angry and annoyed expression on his face. "Ah, this is funny, Mr. Stark. It's what, comfortable? Like old times?"

Tony shakes his head, "This was never my life." Steve looks to the trio.

"You can walk away from this." Steve sounds like a concerned mother.

The elder girl smirks, "Oh we will."

Steve pushes on, "We know you've suffered."

Ultron...groans? "Captain America. God's righteous man, pretending you could live without a war. I can't physically throw up in my mouth, but..." The robot trails off and Thor begins speaking.

"If you believe in peace, then let us keep it." I love how Thor never considers violence first.

The robot points a finger at Thor, "I believe you are confusing peace with quiet."

Tony shakes his head, "What's the Vibranium for? Huh?" His tone is defensive, hardly any sarcasm is in it.

"I wanted to take the time to explain my evil plan! Thank you for asking!" Suddenly a bunch of Iron Legion's begin to attack us.

Steve manages to knock down the silver-haired boy as I look for the girl, which doesn't take long because she's encased in bright white light. Even with my glasses my eyes still burn, well that's new. I use my daggers and short height to mess with the robots.

"We need to take these enhanced down, I got eyes on the smaller one," I say in the mic just as a robot throws a punch at me, it's too slow as I use a dagger to cut off its arm. The girl's eyes are wide as I climb up the side of a van and jump on top of a robot to cut off its head.

I pull out the wires I can grab as it tries to buck me off of it. It won't be able to because the grip I got on it with my legs is like a vise. I manage to pull off the head and jump on the ground and toward the girl. I take down robot after robot and instead of feeling drained I feel like my energy is getting higher.

As if the fight is fueling it. I punch a robot and instantly regret it. "Do not punch these things!" I yell into the mic and take a punch myself. I hold my jaw, "That was mean." I kick it on the chest and it falls down. The widow's bite I throw on it makes it shake as I now have a clear path to the girl.

"It is okay..." I hold my hands up to show her I'm safe. She might be my age, I cannot really tell. "Guys?" I look behind me before my entire arm burns. The girl is holding my arm and there is a white light-emitting from it, burning me. I kick her stomach and she falls.

The silver-haired boy tries to trip me but I grab his arm and twist it behind his back. "I am a trained fighter, you are just a bunch-" I twist harder, "Of goddamn kids!" I push him on the ground by his sister?

"Stay down...guys? What's going on?" I look for high ground and see a vantage point.

"They're being mind-controlled by the older one," Barton says and I nod as I look for her, the boy is up and it feels like I'm running in slow motion as I run the length of the bus and jump onto the girl.

Just as I hit the ground time seems to catch up and I groan, she tries to push me off but I toss a widow's bite on her. "What did you do to my sister!?" He asks and looks scared.

"What I should have done to you!" I toss another one at him but he catches it, it still electrocutes him. The heat is on my back again.

"Really?!" I turn back around and in one motion the girl is on the ground, twitching. "Why aren't you affected?" I ask Barton over the comms.

"Why aren't you?" I shrug in response, I have a bad feeling about this entire thing. On the ground, the boy is speaking to his sister.

"What can I do?" He has a hand on his sister's cheek as I go to find Barton.

"It hurts..." The boy struggles to stand up, "No...I want to finish the plan, I want the big one." My interest is piqued, I follow her gaze to the Quin Jet.

"The big one?" I mumble and try to think about whatever she could mean.

"Wait- Where is Alina?!" I lock eyes with the girl on the ground, she's cringing in pain and I feel bad. I've been hit with one of Black Widow's bites and I know that they hurt like a bitch.

"Hulk," I mutter as a loud roar is heard.

"Natasha I could really use a lullaby." Tony's voice causes me to sigh in relief, at least someone is still them.

"No can do, the whole team is down. Minus the kid." Clint is with her as I catch up to them, I try to feel her pulse and she's okay.
