Chapter 54

Tobirama rushed Nami to the hospital. It was clear to him now that she should have left in an ambulance. She was in a state of shock and he wasn't sure how much blood she had lost.

When he arrived to the hospital, Nami was now completely unconscious. He burst into the ER where nurse promptly started to work on her. Tobirama followed them, holding Nami's hand until he was forced to the waiting room by a security guard.

Tobirama had the waiting room to himself. Both, Hashirama and Nami in the OR. He was tired yet restless. He couldn't bring himself to sit no matter how bad his feet hurt.

The television in the waiting room was showing aerial footage of the crime scene. Currently, it was mystery as to who was involved. He knew Fugaku was doing everything he could to keep the Uchiha name out of the press. By association, Tobirama knew the Senju name was safe as well.

The news then switched into entertainment. Some talk show host with giant tits had Nami's picture up on the screen behind her. The picture was taken right after Raised by the Night had been released. Her picture then morphed into her current state of sunken cheeks and dark bags beneath her eyes. The audience seemed to be criticizing yet another celebrity's downfall into addiction.

Tobirama approached the television and pulled the power cord from the wall just as Mito had entered the waiting room.

"What are you doing?"

"Mito. Hello."

"Where the hell is my husband?"

"In operation right now."

Mito stormed to the front desk where they told her exactly what they had told Tobirama – you'll have to wait. She collected herself and went to where Tobirama paced and sat down in one of the outdated, wooden and leather waiting room chairs.

"Are you going to tell me what happened or just keep walking around like a damned fool?"

Tobirama briefly stopped and peered down at Mito from the corner of his crimson eyes. He continued to pace. Mito crossed her arms and let out a huff. She wouldn't ever be the type of person who could read or look at her phone while waiting for such important news. Instead, Mito resolved herself to sitting and staring past her brother-in-law.

"Senju?" a nurse said as she rounded the corner to the waiting room.

"Yes?" Tobirama and Mito said in unison.

"I can only take one visitor back with me while we discuss Hashirama's condition."

"You'll be taking us both back," Tobirama stated while he started to lead both the nurse and Mito down the hall.

While he was a stubborn ass at times, Mito was thankful for Tobirama at times like these. It meant she could keep her calm demeanor going.

The nurse simply swallowed and accepted Tobirama's new rule over the hospital's. She led them down a sterile, florescent hallway.

"Hashirama did quite well in surgery. The bullet bypassed vital organs, yet due to the proximity of when the gun was fired, it did go completely through his torso. We will be keeping him for at least a week. He does have some tubes for drainage that we want to ensure will not get infected."

"Thank you Nurse."

"Of course. Enjoy your visit."

The nurse went to walk away until Tobirama gently held her shoulder.

"Umino? How is she?"

"I was in the OR with your brother this entire time. I'm not sure what her current status is."

"Well, can you at least tell the nurse to come get me the moment they have news?"

"Sure thing Mr. Senju."

Tobirama was back in the waiting room – sitting this time. He had decided to give Mito time alone with her husband. Some idiot had plugged the television cord back into the power outlet. He held his head in his palm and leaned to the side watching the news reporter discuss the Uchiha – Haruno wedding disaster and how a fight broke out between three prominent members of the Uchiha clan resulting in their deaths.

"We still have not been able to get a statement from actress, Nami Umino, who was the late Madara Uchiha's girlfriend."

For some reason, Tobirama's blood boiled when they referred to her as Madara's girlfriend. She very clearly wasn't anymore. The news started to go on a tangent of Nami's undesirable appearance. They had a psychologist on the show now talking about the stress of fame and what that can do to a person. Tobirama got up and unplugged the television once more.

Just as he dropped the cord a different nurse from the one earlier appeared.

"Mr. Senju?"

"Yes?"

"Nami is out of the OR. She is resting right now but I can still take you back to see her."

Tobirama gave a curt nod and followed the nurse.

"Her feet were cut up pretty badly but they shouldn't take long to heal at all. She did receive a concussion and had a significant loss of blood. The doctor has her heavily medicated at the moment. We don't expect her to wake up for a least another twelve hours."

"I need to speak to the doctor about a condition of hers."

"Okay I can send him in shortly."

When the doctor came in, Tobirama told him all about her drug abuse. When the doctor left, Tobirama realized he had been up for over forty-eight hours, killing two men in the process and almost lost his own brother. He fell asleep holding Nami's hand in the chair next to her bed.

Tobirama was just leaving the hospital. He had already gotten everything straightened out with the police chief and the mayor. Last night's events would be broadcasted as a family feud. The Senju's would be left out of it completely. Tobirama's crimes were hidden from the world, just as Madara's had been.

His next stop was to visit Uchiha Studios. When the news about Madara, Izuna, and Shisui dropped, it also meant that Nami would be sought out. As Madara's girlfriend, the media would want to know where Nami was at and what her role in everything was. He wanted to be sure her agent could deal with it all properly.

"What do you mean she doesn't have an agent?!" Tobirama shouted at Ino.

"Ever since she left Senju Studios, Madara has handled everything for her."

Tobirama turned abruptly, leaving Ino, who was in mourning, standing at the front desk with her jaw dropped. He immediately called his own agent to ensure she would be covered.

Nami spent about three weeks total in the hospital. Mixed with the trauma she experienced as well as the withdrawals and malnutrition, she was in constant pain. Aside from Tobirama, Nami didn't allow any visitors, including Iruka. It would be too much for him to see the pain she was in. Just like before in Kiri.
