20th August 1976

Lily was getting ready in front of the mirror for the Pearls Prom Party hosted by Miss Estelle McChaffrey. She was wearing a white dress with a sweetheart neckline. It had blue rhinestones, in the shape of jasmines, on the border of the neckline.

Her long red hair was swept to one side, with a small clip with a jasmine on it. Her earrings were jasmine-shaped too. And, all belonged to her mother. Rose Evans may be named after roses, but she was fond of jasmines much, much more.

Brielle helped her to the venue. Then, they embraced and she kissed Lily's cheek and waved before going off.

Lily removed her cloak and handed it to the woman at the door and entered the hall. The place was amazing. Multicolor light hung from the ceiling, the floor was covered with velvet red carpets, musicians sat near the enormous dance floor and several young couples were around.

"Lils! Oh my Gods, you looking gorgeous!"

Lily turned around, smiling, to see Marlene standing behind her, looking equally amazing in a deep red gown with hydrangeas on the waistline.

The friends hugged and Marlene pointed over to the bar, where Sirius and James were drinking non-alcoholic wine and, as it looked, Sirius was teasing James.

Probably about Isadora, Lily thought bitterly.

"Oh Me-God, Evans! Don't you look amazing?" Sirius said, and he looked truly whipped at the sight of her.

"Why, thank you, kind sir. You aren't so bad yourself," Lily giggled back. Then, she looked at James and felt the world narrow, leaving only him and her.

He was wearing a dark blue suit, and his messy hair was just as windswept as ever. And on his suit, as a brooch, was a...lily. A white lily of the valley.

"Oh hey, Lils, you looking stunning," he smiled charmingly.

"Even better than me!" Marlene squealed excitedly.

"Hey guys!"

The quartet turned and saw Frank, Remus and Mary coming towards them with Alice, Isadora and Katherine.

"Ooh Lils! You look so, so beautiful!" Mary gasped.

"Thanks, Mare. You guys look amazing too," Lily smiled, a faint blush on her cheeks.

Just then, the lights dimmed and a woman, in spotlight, appeared at the stage. She had short honey blonde hair and dark grey eyes. Her smile was broad, showing off her white, straight teeth.

"Everyone!" She said loudly, "welcome to the Pearls Prom Party hosted by your very own, Estelle McChaffrey! Enjoy, dance and drink!"

The music started and couples started to move towards the dance floor. Mary tugged Remus towards it and they started dancing as their friends watched them with smiles.

"Mel? You coming?" Dorcas grinned at Emmeline, who happily skipped towards the dance floor, her girlfriend following her.

Isadora noticed James stare longingly at Lily, who was talking to Marlene. She could perfectly understand that he wanted a dance with her. Oblivious girl, can't she notice hin for once?

"Hey, Evans," James said, "up for a dance?"

Lily looked at him and laughed. She said, "Gods, no, sorry. I'm an awful dancer."

"Not to worry," James grinned. "I am a good dancer. Come on!"

They walked towards the dance floor. Isadora watched, with slight jealousy, as James took her in his arms and they started dancing. It turned out, Lily wasn't as bad as she insisted. She knew the beats, the steps, the twirls and practically everything.

Isadora looked away, and spotted Katherine flirting with a good-looking guy at the bar.

Somehow, this jealousy was even harsher than the one she felt for Lily.

"We are leaving on the 25th guys."

James looked up from his book to stare at a very grim Emmeline. Sirius, who was previously flipping through a muggle magazine about cars, threw it aside with a glum look: he didn't like to leave his family.

"Way to ruin the mood, Mel," Dorcas grumbled. Emmeline sighed unhappily and rested her head against her girlfriend's shoulder.

Isadora looked rather happy at this, though no one noticed.

"Damn it," Alice muttered.

"Well, sweethearts, we have to let them know," Katherine said sadly.

James wasn't a Ravenclaw, but he understood what them meant.

The summer of 1996 would be known as the fourth summer in which James had failed to ask Lily out.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Sirius give Scarlett five galleons.

22nd August

"Leaving. On the 25th."

"That's wonderful," Remus said sarcastically. Their muggle friends managed small smiles at this.

Marlene, Lily noticed, was staring oddly at Sirius. Her expression was a mixture of sadness, guilt, anger, betrayal and, if Lily was not wrong, relief.

But relief from what?

"Ah, don't worry," Sirius smiled, "we'll enjoy for the remaining days!"

In Lily's opinion, he looked pretty worried. And his expression of guilt matched Marlene's. If not, then Lily was an Ombrelune.

23rd August 1996

"So, Cynthia's a witch. And perhaps so is Adelaide," Zoe Greengrass said slowly.

"Indeed," Phoebe and Bellatrix agreed.

"We need to find their family, somehow. Blood status must be known." Walburga's eyebrows knit together in worry.

"Does than mean we have to leave them?" Phoebe asked sadly.

"No," Orion said. "Not if their families are dead."

"And if they aren't?" Bellatrix wanted to know.

No answer from anyone.

"I'll try to find their family," Edward Greengrass said finally. "All I need is their memories, if they are willing to talk about their past. Whatever they remember, I need it."

"But they don't remember anything, do they? We need the woman who left them," Cygnus pointed out.

"Did someon obliviate them?" Andromeda wondered.

"Possible," Ted Tonks nodded. "But we aren't sure, Meda. The woman is much more important, whoever she may be. Bella, Phoebe, try to get the nuns to talk about her. This woman might de dangerous for Cynthia and Adelaide."

"But what if the children are dangerous?" Narcissa piped up.

"Huh?" Phoebe said, puzzled.

"What if Cyn and Ade are, I dunno, descended from dark witches and wizards? Like that Morgana Le Fay?" Narcissa said quitely.

"Possible," everyone in the room mumbled.
