Chapter Seven- Sweet little lies
"Was it worth it in the end?"
"What?"
"What you did, was it worth it? Do you feel any better? Are you happy?"
".... No." A pause, a breeze, a stinging reality bite. "But I can't change."
"You can change, you just refuse to. It's not impossible, you are merely unable to understand your feelings."
"So what?"
"You tell me. You're the one hurting, not him, not them, just you. You have become your one and only downfall."
"So be it."

Class 3A sat amongst themselves in the kitchen, the entire room silent as they looked between the two. At the head of the table sat Izuku, right across from him sat Katsuki, if either of them looked up they would make eye contact.
Neither looked up. Neither spoke.
"You guys gonna stare all night?" Midoriya asked, looking up only to meet Kirishima's gaze, tilting his head to the left so he wouldn't have to look straight forward. The two were acting like children on the playground, giving each other the silent treatment, ignoring each other. It was quite childish yet very effective nonetheless. "Didn't you get taught it's rude to stare?"
A small bit of laughter fell amongst them before the awkward state was back once more. It was like a family, in a way their class was a family, and that's probably why they had begun arguing at the dinner table as such.
"Midoriya I know you're mad but I'm sure it isn't that bad." Kirishima tried.
Izuku raised a brow. "Oh?" He looked over to the blonde whose head was bowed to his food, hunched over like it would make him less noticeable. "You want to tell them or should I, Bakugou?"
Everyone winced at the coldness in his tone at Katsuki's surname. The blonde looked up, glaring into those forest green eyes.
"Tell them what? That you're a pussy."
"Language!" Tenya headed, his arm doing a miniature chopping motion. "I get that you two are mad but there is no need to be vulgar!"
The silence of the dinner table from earlier faded away into a heated argument. No one knew which one was more appealing.
"Oh please, you wanted us to talk, we're talking." Izuku grinned maliciously.
"More like wanting to pick a fight." Bakugou pushed his plate away, leaning forward. "Bring it, nerd."
Izuku rolled his eyes.
"You two are acting like toddlers." Ochako hissed, the mother in this situation seeing as Yaomomo was in the kitchen. She heard it though and her motherly instincts kicked in.
"She's right, you two have been acting out more often. We get that you have problems to resolve but you two don't communicate properly." Momo said softly as she walked back into the room.
"Oh fuck off, embrace this bullshit." Izuku gestured between him and Katsuki. "We're never gonna work out well, are we?"
"I've been saying that for years!" Bakugou stood up as did Midoriya, both of them with their teeth bared. Todoroki rolled his eyes, motioning for Asui to bind the blonde as he froze Izuku in place.
"What the fuck!" Both boys yelled, thrashing but not getting far.
"Clear the table." Iida sighed and Tokoyami used Dark shadow to get it done easier, clearing the table in record time so that they could throw Izuku and Bakugou on the table, inches apart.
"I don't want to look at this bastard!"
"I don't wanna look at you either, fuck face!"
Kaminari took out his phone along with Ashido to tape this going down as Todoroki bound both boys to the table with ice connecting them to each other by their hands. If they pulled away the injury would be fatal so they opted to scream at each other. The class let them, letting them get all their anger out of the way, or much rather let Izuku. Katsuki had never ending anger that never really calmed down but, much rather, hid itself.
After a few minutes Izuku was panting, his chest heaving as he sucked in air from the effort it took to yell out all his anger. He turned his head away from Katsuki who was watching him carefully, having resorted to letting Izuku yell at him while watching with a tired expression. Sure, it hurt, but he had manipulated the conversation enough to make it seem like Izuku was overreacting.
Did he feel bad for this? Sure he did. But he wasn't going to apologize for it, or do anything about it either.
Midoriya's freckled face blazed with embarrassment, having let his emotions get in control of him and taking out his anger on the blonde. Not like it was bad, he deserved a release after letting Katsuki fuck with his emotions, but Izuku was too nice.
He knew he was getting tricked, manipulated. But, oh god, was it better than battling it out. Izuku wasn't ashamed to say it, he liked the lies of the bitter truth.
"You done?" Katsuki murmured, a glint in his eye, a hopeful one. He could get away with this, he could put his emotions in a box and go back to how it used to be. To when Midoriya chased him and they had a subtle rivalry. Right?
Dead wrong. But, hey, Izuku would play along. For now. What else did he have to lose? His dignity was already shredded enough, his anxiety merely the icing on the cake. So, yeah, he would play along.
They would both play along.
What was left to lose?
