Chapter Twenty Five - Parole
                              "Isn't that excessive?!"
                              "All that for a child?!"
                              Life without Parole. Court Adjourned.

Kirishima watched in disbelief, shock and close to what felt like horror as the blonde woman cuffed to the table turned her head to the mirror for him to get a better look. She wouldn't know who he was, hell she couldn't even see him but-
Ejiro looked over to Katsuki, blonde hair in a mess under his hood and volcanic eyes under the embers of his smudged eyeliner as he stared angrily at the greenette in front of him. Then, as if he hadn't done this before, Kirishima looked at the woman. Her blonde hair was lighter, chopped short when she shook her head and her sleek ponytail fell. Her eyes weren't red but a deep burgundy. But you'd have to be blind not to see how similar these two looked.
This scared the redhead who didn't know whether or not he was supposed to hear the duo's conversation, but the minute he made way to the door Midoriya shook his head slightly before focusing on the male in front of him.
"Why did you follow me?" Izuku hissed, hand over the closed door that led into the interview room. He spared a glance to the passed out guard, nearly rolling his eyes at the display of the snoring mess.
"Why are you fucking here? Talking to that, t-that fucking asshole without even telling me!." Katsuki countered, voice cracking slightly as he averted his gaze from the glass and kept his infuriated look on Izuku who sighed in frustration. He pinched the bridge of his nose, closing his eyes and shaking his head. He spoke in a low and tense voice, the veins in his hands seeming to pop.
"Mitsuki and I agreed it wasn't wise to tell you. Look at you!" He gestured to Katsuki, emerald eyes blazing. "We haven't talked in, what, a month? Two? So how would I even approach you when you'd ignore me or avoid me? And then fucking what?"
Kirishima pursed his lips at the tone, opening his mouth before shutting up. This wasn't his place to speak, or even if he wanted to defend Katsuki. How could he? He opted for watching the drooling guard with his coffee cup over a stack of comics. Kirishima occupied himself with the X-men.
"Even if I'd told you, you'd want to come with me. I know how much you fucking hate this place, Katuski." Izuku reached out but Bakugou batted his hand away and narrowed his eyes.
"No, no. Do not play that card, Deku. Why the fuck are you in here?" His voice sounded betrayed, hurt but he continued on. "Why are you talking to her? I don't care about what you said when we were younger about her fearing you or the killing, I don't give a shit. What the fuck are you doing here?"
Izuku raised a brow. "I can ask you the same thing."
Katsuki was shaking, with anger or fear he didn't know. His whole body seemed to shiver like a leaf, eyes blazing furiously. Izuku's eyes softened, scarred hand reaching out to go underneath the males jaw and tilt his head up.
"Can we talk about this later?" He murmured, not liking how Katsuki clenched his fists and closed his eyes tightly to stop the tears. His words stuck in the back of his throat, trying his hardest to stop Izuku from going back into that room. He didn't care if Izuku thought he was being unreasonable, he couldn't know. Katsuki had spent years with him in the dark, he wouldn't let him know now. He refused to.
He jerked his chin away, inhaling deeply when Izuku sighed. It was silent, Kirishima not daring to look up from his book yet. He flipped the pages silently, tuning out for the time being.
Izuku bent to his level, murmuring. "You don't need to know, you get that right?"
"If it involves me I need to know, Deku." His voice was tight, eyes averted from the gaze in front of him because he knew he'd give in if he let Midoriya dazzle him with his charming smile and soft words. His soft eyes that make you want to trust him immediately, warm hands that lay on Katsuki's forearms.
Izuku's jaw ticked, eyes seeming to blaze and soften as if he couldn't decide if his anger was justified. His hands remained soft and gentle as he let Katsuki go and pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration, turning away from the blonde to look at the glass where the prisoner sat. "You asked me to tell you so fine, I'll fucking tell you. She's earned a retrial, the case is open in front of court again."
                              Katsuki gaped. "Bullshit."
Izuku laughed, a bitter tone that seemed to sting as he stayed silent. Kirishima, glanced up then glanced right back down when he noticed the blonde in the room past the door looking straight at him. He knew she couldn't see but the poor redhead was getting an off vibe from the woman.
"You really think I don't know you're hiding something from me?" Izuku murmured. "Because your eyes give you away."
Katsuki held his head high, glaring at Midoriya evenly. "I have no fucking idea what you're talking about."
Izuku nodded, rolling his eyes before opening the door and saying over his shoulder. "Whatever you say, Kacchan."
Katsuki stared at the door as Midoriya took his seat in front of the woman once more, leaning back and smiling at her he started the conversation back up.
                              This time, Katsuki listened.
