Chapter Eighteen- Full Circle

"Deku look!" The boy, around six years of age, ran downstairs. The green coat, far too big for him, blew behind him as he skidded into the room.

"Kacchan." The other smiled, standing beside his mom, having only a second warning as the blonde barreled into him. They skidded into one of the walls, laughing.

Mitsuki raised her phone to take a picture as she laughed with Inko, the camera clicking just as Katsuki bit Izuku's cheek earning a giggle as Midoriya looked at their moms.

Izuku stormed out of the school, doors banging open with a loud clang. This was the third time that week, he was losing the will to keep the smile on his face every time he saw him.

Loving Katsuki had its consequences, which was probably why they both denied their feelings for so long, but the only reason there were consequences at all was solely because Bakugou didn't want his feelings.

You're surprised?-Izuku asked himself, a bitter smile making its way to his face as he walked faster. -Remember middle school?

It was a hazy trudge towards his dorm, mind in the clouds overhead which darkened, the lightest beginning of rain starting up and the wind turning aggressive. He could see the splatter of water making its way onto the pavement. For October it seemed more like spring instead of fall, the onslaught of rain being constant.

He was hiding his emotions too, but unlike Katsuki his emotions were not invisible. His were quite obvious to see through, see that something is wrong. He tried hating him, he tried so damn hard but nothing ever worked.

He opened the door to his dimly lit room, the heat in his veins causing him to take off his shirt and throw it to the wall before collapsing on his bed. The sheets cooling him just barely, the miniature break from the burning was enough to stop him from losing his mind. His shoulders shook as he cried, hands gripping the pillows as he buried his head into it.

He was not ashamed to cry, fuck those who said men couldn't cry, but he just hurt. His lungs seized as he sucked in a deep breath through shredded muscle. It hurt but it would hurt more if he stayed with Katsuki.

Right?

He stayed in his dorm for the remainder of the day, not bothering to go to class, sitting in the middle of his bed now with his legs crossed and staring a hole into the wall, the light in the room darkening as the sun went down. How long had he really been in there? The hours molded together, mixing in the hourglass that swirled in the back of his mind. Running his hand through his curls he sighed, tugging on the ends of the sea green tufts with a frustrated groan.

He really stormed out of there in a fit. He snorted, it's not like anyone would notice or come find him, Todoroki promised to keep them away and was probably spouting a beautiful excuse that no one will bother to question. Uraraka was probably suspicious but she would stay away, knowing Izuku needed his space.

But he should have known, the one person who didn't take orders. A harsh rapid knock hit his door followed by a curse. Midoriya narrowed his eyes, glaring at the door but otherwise staying silent.

"I know you're in there, shitty nerd, open up." A small thump on the door, on the other end Katsuki leaned his head on the wooden surface and waited. Waited for the door to open or, more realistically, for Izuku to tell him to go away.

Izuku reluctantly stood, making his way to the door and unknowingly copied the male on the other end of the door. His head on the door, hand hesitantly gripping the handle but not turning it in any way at all. Katsuki's eyes flickered to the shadow that casted itself from under the door. He swallowed, holding back the tears as a sudden wave of emotion hit him unexpectedly. He didn't know why or how it came to be but it caused goosebumps to raise the hair on his skin.

Katsuki knew Izuku left for his own good but he didn't care, he vowed to stay away from Midoriya and now here he was. He broke his promise again and again, he wondered if it was anything but an empty reassurance that he wasn't falling for someone he couldn't have.

What was he doing?! Izuku left, letting him choose how he wanted to proceed. He could have let it drop, let things turn back to normal, let his feelings fade but no! No, here he was knocking on the door worried. What the fuck.

But he stayed still, waiting. The handle turned but it didn't open, he couldn't hear much on the other side but the turn of the metal seemed to screech like a banshee. The hall was vacant, you could faintly hear their breaths. They didn't know what the other wanted. Izuku wanted Katsuki but not if he got treated so horribly. It had happened before. And Bakugou he... He didn't know and that was the problem. He didn't know why he held himself back, why he hurt Izuku so much but deep down he felt like it had something to do with himself.

He was so damaged that whatever he touched turned broken with him and Izuku, he was shattering. He could see it so clearly, he was hurting him. So, why? He asks himself why he kept coming back. He convinced himself to leave the male alone but what was he doing? He was securely tying the noose around Midoriya's neck, knowing that for some inexplicable reason Izuku stayed with him. Loved him.

And he realized slowly that this statement was true, what Izuku always wanted him to see.

"I love you." He whispered without even knowing, acknowledging, what he said until the door flew open. Izuku glared down at him, looking hurt as he murmured.

"Don't."

The male bit the inside of his cheek, garnet meeting emerald just as they gazed at each other. The blonde swallowed, an audible gulp. Midoriya shook his head.

"Just leave, Katsuki, please." His tone utterly pleading as he moved back, beginning to close the door. Katsuki raised his hand quickly towards Izuku before the door closed, trying to stop him. But just as he did, his hand came a bit too close, a small gasp, a scared look.

Deku flinched and Bakugou froze. All of what he did, their past, his actions, his words they all came back. And that's how he ended up in his room thinking everything over. What had he done? He couldn't go near Izuku without the male flinching, without him moving two steps back, he was barely friends with the greenette so how in the world did he expect them to have a normal romantic relationship after all he had done. Was he insane? After all he had done? How could he forget?

How could he forget the words he had told him. How could he?

Izuku should have hated him but he didn't.

But in those beautiful emerald eyes Katsuki could see it. The small fear that always stayed, the jumpiness that was there in case everything went south.

He flinched.

That little motion was enough to break Bakugou's heart.
