Hey kid! What you doing huh?
-Asked Xigbar as he came waltzing into the gray room with Xemnas at his heels. Roxas was seated quietly on the couch, he was actually a bit concerned that Saix was really, really late on coming out to provide missions. Roxas paused when he saw Xigbar, and his Superior.-
Where's Saix? Is something wrong?
Oh, X-Face? Bah don't worry about him kid, he had a little accident but he will be alright. He's in bed takin a nap, ain't that right Xemnas?
-Xemnas smiled gently with a nod to the boy, whom looked concerned for his duty giver.-
Yes that's right. He's been hurt, but he will be just fine. He will be off work a few weeks while he recovers. Roxas, I was thinking you, Xigbar and I could go do something that we do regularly. We were waiting on you to be more comfortable before asking you to work with us on it.
Oh, alright, what is it?
Welp, basically kid, we go down into the city on the outskirts of the castle, anddddd we blast the shit out of some heartless. Sound fun?
-Roxas blinked, staring blankly.-
Huh?
-Xemnas shook his head some poking Xigbar in his side causing him to eekk and make a face, swatting at Xemnas's hand.-
Wierdo.
Says the one confusing poor Roxas. What Xigbar was trying to say, Roxas, is that regularly, we have to go to the city to eliminate heartless in order to protect our castle. If the heartless become too numerous or spawn back too quickly, it could be disastrous. We could be overrun by them if we are not careful. And considering your power, when you release hearts with the keyblade, it prevents a heartless from respawning at all. Would you mind lending us a hand? We greatly could use your assistance.
-Roxas blinked and tilted his head as he took in what his leader asked of him. It strangely made him feel a bit special to know he could do something so important to protect the castle. He smiled and then nodded enthusiastically.-
Yeah! I can do that. How often is it done anyways?
Usually I and big boss man go out and do it once a week, because you know, we get bored. But at minimum it needs to be done once a month to assure those little bastards don't come up here and try eating us alive.
They normally are not attracted up here to the castle, since we do not carry hearts, but if too many are in the area they will eventually begin to spread out more in search of them, and will eventually encounter the castle. I am sure you understand Roxas how dangerous that could get.
-Roxas nodded as he rose up from the couch, smiling from ear to ear. Xigbar and Xemnas were the highest officers in the organization, it was actually kind of nice to know they valued him so much, and even more so that they wanted to include him in on an activity they themselves only seemed to do together.-
Then, I guess we better get going then?
Indeed we should Roxas. Your enthusiasm is uplifting.
...
Did you see that heartless's face? Obviously its gone now because I blew it off but fuck did you see it!?
-Xigbar and Roxas's were giggling messes as the pair walked through the city. They and Xemnas had killed any heartless they had seen so far, and clearly Roxas was having a blast. It made the leader of the nobodies smile.-
Yeah I did! He looked like he was having a real bad day after that one!
Hell yes he was kid!
-Xigbar smirked before mercilessly ruffling the boys hair and messing it up, causing Roxas to squeak.-
