Now why exactly do we have to do this in the middle of the night? You are aware of the dangers in this region around this time yes?

I would think so, several rather violent examples of monstrous wildlife tend to cluster on this mountain range. Then again, that is exactly why I requested you come with me Vincent. As for why at night, have you seen the temperatures in the afternoon?

I see.

Ai but... then why did ya ask me ta come!?

-Reeve chuckled softly at the antics of his close mechanical feline companion. He had requested the assistance of both Cait and Vincent in collecting mass amounts of lightning materia ore to fuel his new reconstruction project. From some of the blueprints of technology gathered from places Cid had decided to visit with his new Gummi ship, the man was able to develop his own ideas on how to construct the perfect power grid nearly Mako free. There were intentions to test some prototypes in controlled environments to be sure the magical lightning grids wouldn't cause any health issues long term, or perhaps to even make something different all together, but this was at least a start. The largest known Lightning Materia mine was out in the mountains off the coast, and due to a multitude of reasons, whether it be unmentionable experiments, habitat decline, and any other possible factor, the area was crowded with invasive and dangerous beasts from all walks of life just looking to prey on unexpected travelers. Something Reeve could not risk should he wish to excavate the old thunder ore mine for his theory.-

I asked you to come as support of course. Vincent can't exactly fight them all himself.

But I can't be fight'n em either! Ya souless scientist, makin' me do even more of ya dirty work even years later.

You wound me with those words old friend. How will I ever recover?

-Said Reeve with a mild grin in his features, clearly making jest right back at his whining cat bot. Vincent sighed softly, murmuring lowly.-

You do realize that we most likely will only be able to get a look around. I'm not carrying several hundred pounds of crystalline magic on my back Reeve.

I know Vincent, however we at least need to be sure the mine wasn't picked clean by scavengers or even just destroyed naturally by the elements. Excavation can always come later. We also need to determine the quality of the ore before beginning to rely on it for resources. Say, didn't there used to be an old Turks compound in this area? Or was that well after your time? If so we could camp there for the evening should we run into trouble.

There was, I doubt however its still around. From what I've heard while catching up with Tseng, the president was intent on removing as many resources from Turk hands as possible, including safe houses. I assume that was because of Rufus's meddling?

Hm... I am aware that Rufus had attempted to light quite the fire under the company's hide, I was not aware that lead to compounds and safe houses being confiscated however... that is unless the director is only telling committed Turks about assets.

-Said the urban development manager with a smirk. Vincent rolled his eyes at that.-

I already told the both of you, no.

I know. But we could use your help Vincent, greatly.

I am more than capable of assisting without having to commit to an old wound.

Even if it would bring someone peace of mind?

I don't know how me taking over solves anything.

Director Tseng wants to retire. Reno is not ready to be the director of the Turks however. He's still got a lot of baggage to sort through.
