What are you doing up this early?
To harass you of course.
Ugh... great.
-It figured that Xigbar would get up to bother Xaldin at a time like this. He had just taken the blueberry scones out of the oven for breakfast, that Shade had assisted the night before making the dough for. Today was finally the morning of Zexions birthday, and the older Mongolian man did not need his old guard duty partner coming in the kitchen to fuck it all up after he already had been messing with his baking for months. Too bad for Xaldin however, that Xigbars sharp gold eye had already caught sight of the hot settling pastries on the rack, and he had every intention of getting one when the lancer was not looking.-
Oh come on, don't be like that ya old wind bag, you almost seem salty about me being here this morning.
You will NOT be coming in here and ruining all of the work I and Shade have done for breakfast, have you forgotten what day it is?
Damn I miss a holiday again? What is it, some kind of fall thing? Those pastries look like spring to me. Where's mine by the way?
You won't be getting one, didn't you know? I don't bake for bastards whom make it a point to reverse all my efforts on learning a useful skill.
Ohhhh so you did figure out what I did to your book! Finally, I was almost starting to feel bad... almost.
Feh, you are a cruelty I would not wish on my enemies Xigbar.
I take that as a compliment. So, you going to tell me what I apparently am missing out on? Why is today so special?
It's Zexions birthday you twit.
-The pirate paused, blinking some as he seemed to ponder, tilting his head to the side and running a leather hand over his smooth hairless chin.-
Damn, I really am starting to lose it huh? Now that I think of it uh...
-He went quiet for a moment, eye seeming to narrow in thought, before sighing and shaking his head some. Xaldin blinked, once sharp and almost icy purples seeming to show a vibrant glow of confusion.-
What?
Nah, its nothing. So! Pastries are for the kiddo huh? Lucky him, hehe, so sentimental of you.
Quiet, one can't be sentimental without a heart you fool. You'd think you'd remember at least that part.
As if, implying I forget something so important. ...Though, why do you do those types of things anyways? I don't remember that when we used to live back at the castle.
What do you mean? I've always done this... are you alright?
-Xaldin moved his hand to turn on the over head stove fan in order to attempt to cool the scones a bit quicker, or at least to where they would be ready to eat by the time breakfast was ready and others arrived for the morning ritual. He then moved to the fridge and began taking out the eggs, bacon, butter, and other items in need of being kept cool that were required for cooking this morning. Xigbar seemed to look to the side some, and did not really respond for a long moment, causing concern to rise in the whirlwind lancer. After setting down the items bundled up in his arms he looked back to the second in command of the nobodies.-
This isn't like you, now what the hell is the matter? You look as though I just butchered a small innocent animal and hung there corpse over your bedroom door.
...I uh... I don't think I remember what my birthday is...
You what?
-Xaldin paused and took in the other mans words. His gaze was unreadable for a moment as he seemed to be lost in thought, well, honestly a few thoughts that ran swiftly through his synapses, before he also now grew quiet. There was a darkening moment of silence, before Xaldin muttered simply- -
