Are you really going to be home every day for lunch daddy?
I am.
You promise?
-Shade laughed as he hugged his daughter, seated on the couch in his living room back home. Raijin was out for the day, and Kira's new chaperone Genesis was asleep upstairs in the guest room. The single father was eternally grateful to both his older sister, and this new stranger assisting with tending to the girl. Hopefully when the man got up for lunch he could introduce himself properly to the ex-soldier, and of course help make him comfortable.-
Vexen said I was not permitted to come back from lunch unless I came and saw you personally.
-The girl squealed in delight and hugged to the blond mans arm, nuzzling slightly. Her creepy dolly was laying on the couch across from them, motionless as usual.-
I'm so happy daddy. I missed you. I'll make sure to be home for lunch too! ...They are being nice to you there, right?
Of course, as nice as they can. Some of them are just scared, that's all.
Like your patients?
Mmhm, just like that. I think with time though, we might just become friends.
-Kira nodded with a smile as she took a soft breath, the smell of fresh baked cookies and a home cooked meal still permeated around the kitchen and living room, she had missed this.-
I can have aunty Raiji get food for the house. I miss your carrot cake.
Only miss the desserts do you? Silly girl.
No! I miss all of it! Pot roast, and lasagna, spending time with you... that part I miss the most.
I miss that part the most too.
-Mumbled the man as he squeezed the child close in a cuddle pile. Sometimes, he wondered if he could just give up on the crap he had going on working with Shaddow, and just go back to this life of normalcy. But again, he knew better, the worlds wouldn't still exist if they gave up on this project of there's. A few years if not months of bliss would not equate to the lifetime he hoped for with his strange little family.-
How has your mission been going Kira?
Not so good, I called Botan-chan yesterday, but there was no answer. I'm worried.
I see, that's not good in the slightest. I will attempt to contact Koenma myself this evening after I handle some patients. I have a surgery I need to do before I head home to make dinner for everyone back at the castle.
What are you making them? Can I have some too?
-Shade laughed heartily.-
Of course ill send some home. I'm sure a certain someone would more than willingly bring some back for you, and if not ill do it myself.
Moppy too? He likes your dinners.
-Said the child as she gestured for the doll on the other couch. The man snickered and shook his head some in mild amusement.-
Of course, and probably some for Raijin and Genesis too.
Genesis-nii-san likes apples! Will you make apple streusel pie daddy?
Maybe. I think you have had enough dessert today though silly.
-Laughed the fatherly doctor. Kira froze as she looked to the window, someone had walked past, and had been looking in on them.-
Um... daddy? Someone was in our window...
-Shade paused, blinking as he looked back to see no one was there.-
