Chapter 52: Cries from the Camera

Play it again, I need to hear it for myself. If we are going to get involved in investigating this boss man, then we need to hear it too yo, even if its... painful.

-Reno was seated across from the giant projector in the meeting office, with Rude at his side discussing with Rufus, Reeve, and Tseng about some recent interesting happenings over at Hollow Bastion. It was bad enough those strange people had moved into the town and taken over the construction, but now both Avalanche members, and regular townsfolk had begun reporting strange happenings.-

In town at night people have heard screaming from within the high tower, they say it sounds like someone young.

-Rude grimaced, all he could think about was the cries he'd heard from little Namine when she had been stuck within the castle, he of course knew she was safe supposedly but, it still made him worry.-

Namine hadn't mentioned anyone else in there with her, has anyone gone missing in town recently?

-Reeve shook his head at the bald mans question.-

If anything, ever since those construction people came in, the city has been pretty safe. A few have been talking to Yuffie and her friend merlin about installing a security system piggy backed off the old one from the castle. Of course, they need to be able to get into the castle first in order to do that. I will say however, that little boy Roxas really is something. You were right reno, he's reduced numbers so drastically.

I know ain't it nuts yo? He's a heartless slayin' machine that kid is. Also, Boss man what the fuck, that Xehanort guys a real piece of work.

Oh? You met him? When was this?

-Rufus smirked, he remembered how interesting his old mentor could be, one could argue that perhaps Rufus had picked up and emulated quite a few of his smart ass behaviors. Reno made a face of annoyance before muttering.-

I tried calling the kid, figured he might come help us eliminate some more heartless in the castle, said its his job anyways so, you know. And then that one answers the phone and fucks with me the whole time!

-Rufus laughed mildly, yes, that was Xehanort. He could be a bit of a dramatic and goofy troll when he wanted to be. And Reno wasn't exactly a difficult target to poke a stick at.-

Good to know he still has a sense of humor.

Not when its at my expense yo!

Better behave yourself Reno, if I know Xehanort, he might just next time send your brother over to harass you.

-Reno stiffened, and then made an uncomfortable expression.-

That's uh... not funny. Not sure I can face that one at the moment...

-Rude sighed and put his arm around Renos shoulder, rubbing gently, he understood. Its not every day you blame yourself for years for someone's death, then come to find out they are alive... but probably still dislike you. Rufus also somewhat understood, he had been dealing with Zexion the last few weeks. Tseng quietly clicked a button on his projector remote before gesturing for everyone to look at the screen. There was no visual, because the camera had not been pointed in the direction of the sound, as well as the fact it was placed in an extremely dark room in the castle. The dial in the corner showed the timer ticking... but nothing was seen or heard... until- a loud scream echoed from the speakers, causing Reno and Reeve to jump slightly, the only ones to have heard this audio beforehand were Tseng and Rufus. the screaming slowly devolved into horrid painful sobbing... the cries, were that of a young teenage boy. Reno and Rude tried to listen in for little missable details, but the only sounds audible were the perilous wailing from whom ever this person was, seemingly suffering within the castle walls. After 10 or so minutes, the sobbing died down to miserable helpless little whimpers.-
